  1. I have seen an issue reported in X10 that Roof Planes are interfering with Walls ( eg stucco disappearing or a Hole) in Plans brought forward in some cases, ( Tech Support is aware of this apparently and looking into it) . In the Past this has been one reason for Friezes to not work Properly , I'll have a look , and see if I can find anything.... *** Nice House , its a pity X10 Broke it , didn't find anything obviously wrong though, works in X9 here too. M.
  2. It looks like Perry maybe right , like the Sun is from the Opposite Direction ......but Use the Edge Smoothing While Idle setting too so X10 will enhance the Line work while the Camera is Still. I also set Ambient Occlusion to 50% or less (40% usually ), so as not to get weird Shadows in the Corners especially on Interior Views. Also, it's good to have your Forum Signature filled in please, especially with the Software Version, and of course a Name is nice too ..............see mine below in Blue for how to do that. If you don't see my Signature then you have them turned off for the Forum or are perhaps on the CA Mobile WebSite.
  3. Just to clarify 1:1 for Printing from Layout ( assuming you Sent to Layout at 1/4"=1") and for Printing from Plan View 1/4 =1" It has always been my understanding that we actually Draw at 1:1 , and the Scale ( in Drawing Sheet Setup Page ) is only applied when we Print or Send to Layout. Different Views eg Elevations and Cross Sections can have different Scales Applied via the Drawing Sheet Setup Page while in that particular View. See Page 1224 of the X9 Ref. Manual or page 1322 of the X10 Manual for more Info. ================================================================================================= Specify the Drawing Scale for the active view. This scale is applied only when the view is printed. The scale is specified in two parts, which by default are 1 ft = 1 ft or 1 m = 1 m for layout views, and ¼ inch = 1 ft or 1 m = 50 m for all other views. Both imperial and metric units of measurement are available and can be selected independently. The Drawing Scale acts as the default scale for the active view’s Print, Print Size Calculator, and Send to Layout dialogs. =================================================================================================
  4. No Problem Tony , happy to help if I can, there a a number of posts here from Home Designer Users as CA doesn't make it Clear about the Forum. Some Laptops actually have 2 VideoCards, an Intel and a discrete Nvidia Card , assign your Home Designer Title to the Nvidia Card if that is , in fact the case for you , use the Nvidia Control Panel , which you can usually get by right Clicking the Desktop to do that. There maybe a Intel Option too. It's the other reason to Fill out your signature with you hardware details as at time like this that can be useful info, eg model no# etc so people can help if they can. M.
  5. Hi Tony , 1st off you are actually on the Chief Architect Forum here ( green theme) you want to be on the Hometalk Forum ( Blue theme) for the Home Designer Products. You can use the same Username and Password Over there too . Hometalk is here : https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/?_fromLogin=1 That being said, it is possible that the issue is the Latest Video (Nvidia?) Driver there are a few Issues for some particularly on Laptops. The fix for most has been to install Nvidia Driver version 382.05 and block Microsoft from updating the Drivers Automatically. I have a detailed post and links on how to do that here : https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/16205-nvidia-driver-388xx-series-drivers-and-a-fix/ Also, it's good to have your Forum Signature filled in please, especially with the Software Version, and of course a Name is nice too ..............see mine below in Blue for how to do that. If you don't see my Signature then you have them turned off for the Forum or are perhaps on the CA Mobile WebSite.
  6. X10 has a new lighting scheme Joey which always Uses Shadows , which are now call Ray Casted Sun Shadows (RCSS) which is based on Ray Tracing , so you will see increased CPU use if not disabled , there is also a new View type Called PBR ( Physical Based Rendering ) which is much faster than RTing. The increase CPU usage was the 1st thing I noticed after installing x10 too... You have some catching up to do here on the Forums and you need to update your Sig. to X10 M,
  7. Yep, Contact Tech Support tomorrow , you may need a full reinstall , not just a Repair though.
  8. Joe will be on x10 now but I think I did my Updated Library in X9 ( link above ) a bit more Work than Joe's though....
  9. Thanks Joe , it works nicely....

  15. Great , earthquake here damaging my walls and your Potlights are growing Teeth It is a positional thing , might be the Potlights causing it in Mine too?. I think mine are from the new Chief Library though , as I had issues with some out of my User Library during the Bathroom Reno ,especially on the Sloped Ceilings , while the X10 Library one worked as expected. M.
  16. Nice Work Rene.... I guess that is Thea or Lumion though ? M.

  18. Hi , Do you have the Curved Sash Option in Interiors? Open the Windo's DBX and look on the Sash Tab for the Radio Button for Curved. Also, it's good to have your Forum Signature filled in please, especially with the Software Version, and of course a Name is nice too ..............see mine below in Blue for how to do that. 19. Looks like there was an Earthquake in my Area last night anyone else seeing this kind of thing in PBR
  20. I think what Kirk was saying is they have Updated the two different Rendering Engines, but as yet there are very few Materials which leverage the new Rendering Engines and we will just have to wait, till they are updated too ....hopefully not to X11....
  21. Did you try labelling B as an Attic? or is it a real room? not that simple , you've got some interesting walls and a large hole in the Floor ... I'll have a better look later if needed... M.
  22. Like Eric , I was Originally a bit Confused by what image you were referring too or if you were being "general" as in commenting on Spanish Style Homes with a link that.... it did not open as one Image, for me at least, but as a Large Google Image Gallery , I don't think anyone will be offending by you "liking" their Work and posting an Image here, but you could also link direct to the Site the Image is from too, instead of to a Google Search Gallery. I think Eric might be right about the Angle ( Tapered?) Sides on the Hole , but Glenn's Hole looks pretty good to me, I haven't tried cutting thru a wall with the New Tool yet though.... M.
  23. Not from a Viewer is my guess , so Try DraftSight... Mick.
  24. Thanks David , that does look smoother than my Clopay one...... I turned it into a new material and included it with my T&G Library below made from the Clopay Material but resized etc. If you want to make your own from the Clopay T&G and want White finish, start with the Fir T&G as it Paints white the Best.
