Walls are controlled by Roofs , not the other way around except for Half Walls or Railings. Also, it's good to have your Forum Signature filled in please, especially with the Software Version, and of course a Name is nice too ..............see mine below in Blue for how to do that. If you don't see my Signature then you have them turned off for the Forum or are perhaps on the CA Mobile WebSite.

Thanks for the Reminder Greg, to my Surprise my old CTE-450 (Bamboo Fun) works in Win10 after all (Driver 5.3.3.3) after Wacom Told me there were no Win10 Drivers for it. I actually got their large Mouse Pad (Sargas) from the Microsoft Store , its huge , and I actually like it , can't comment on their Mice though. M.

Rev A Shelf Component Display in Plan View?
Kbird1 replied to WoodlandDesign's topic in General Q & A
I had not thought about inserting the CAD Block, from the Symbol, if needed , that would work if someone really wanted to shown it in Plan View and is easy to do , and you could hide them with a different Layer too in certain Views. -
Rev A Shelf Component Display in Plan View?
Kbird1 replied to WoodlandDesign's topic in General Q & A
Rev-Shelf was originally a Sketch-Up Library , so I don't think it has all the Capabilities of the Chief In-House Symbols , some of the Items are all one material even , ie even the Drawer Slides and Utensils are Wood in some etc -
Rev A Shelf Component Display in Plan View?
Kbird1 replied to WoodlandDesign's topic in General Q & A
Yes , same thought here.....if you put the Placed one's on a separate layer , you can turn them off in 3D Views though. M. -
Rev A Shelf Component Display in Plan View?
Kbird1 replied to WoodlandDesign's topic in General Q & A
You can't see one when you see the other depending on the View ? or are you showing open in 3D and closed in Plan View? M> -
Rev A Shelf Component Display in Plan View?

You can use 1 of each as a workaround but @McMark Mark is the Cabinets Expert here, he may know how to do it. M. -
Rev A Shelf Component Display in Plan View?
Kbird1 replied to WoodlandDesign's topic in General Q & A
okay I tried a Waste basket and a Drawer Insert and they only show if I drag them into a Cabinet ..... still playing ..you need to set the height off the floor that way though. M. -
Rev A Shelf Component Display in Plan View?
Kbird1 replied to WoodlandDesign's topic in General Q & A
how was the rev-a-shelf waste basket put into the cabinet? -
Should be , alot of stuff off 3D Warehouse has really high Poly counts , as it is not always done by Professionals , ie alot of Students post the Class "Projects" up there, not that I am a 3D Artist by any means, I just know Chief doesn't like Curves or rounded objects much or objects that haven't been optimised for Poly Counts. post the plan for others to try , as there should be no issues at all , unless perhaps the User has tried all sorts of Workarounds to "fix" stuff his/her version can't do. Unless you have just fond a new Bug in x10? Eric ,(Solver) plays with alot of HD files though from the HomeTalk Forum , so I'd think he knows. Rev A Shelf Component Display in Plan View?
Kbird1 replied to WoodlandDesign's topic in General Q & A
In the Defaults>Cabinets>General there is an Display option to Show Doors and Drawers which should work I think...not sure if it shows REV. Catalog items too as I haven't tried it... -
you can put the image in a frame or perhaps on it ? to give it "depth" if needed. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00254/placing-a-painting-or-picture-on-a-wall.html https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00007/creating-a-custom-picture-painting-or-sign.html

Geez, Reputation too? I already named the method after him ... ahhh all right then

Doug's Invisible Wall Method works nicely if you want a Two Post Corner , the walls can be pulled back from the Corner without them wanting to snap back together. Below I removed the Top Rail from the Railing DBX and Made my Own with a Molding Line so both the Top Rail and 2x6 Cap continue around the Corner. M.

I didn't notice the Invisible Wall true, Doug has come up with his Own method , I just thought there was an issue with the Railings in Plan View , so I dragged them to the wall to see if it would fix itself and didn't look into it further . You are right it doesn't need "generate on low platform" with Doug's Invisible Wall Method but having it checked doesn't matter either it seems? at least from a quick play. Good method if you don't want the 1/2 Post on the Wall. M.

Hi G. it's usually a good idea to run DDU before swapping Cards and then reinstall the latest Drivers after the Reboot https://www.wagnardsoft.com/ Once you register the Card and have you EVGA ID sign in, you can download Precision X too. M.

All you missed Doug was when you convert to a Wall it loses the Generate on Low Platform check mark , when you switch it back to a Railing you need to check it again.... and it will Drop down as expected. here is your plan back............. done in X9. MHD_deck balustrade study 2.plan

what step did I miss? cos I did it earlier and posted that pic.... nothing it seems M.

There is some stuff under Interiors>Accessories>Wall Accents but not much.... maybe there are Bonus Libraries I don't have though? search accessories https://3dlibrary.chiefarchitect.com/index.php

What Software are you using? because there are Floor and Beam Tools even in the Home Designer Titles this could be done with the Soffit Tool in the Cabinets Menu , it can be used for many different things and it will accept moldings too. Posted by @glennw in my Other thread .....with one change for X10 make sure Generate between Platforms is OFF on the Structure Tab 1st. You can do the fascia mount railing with 1 wall definition. No invisible walls needed. Define your railing wall definition with an additional external layer with Opening (no Material). This will offset the whole rail by the wall layer thickness. Check Generate on Low Platform (Rail Style...Build From...) Convert it to a non-railing wall and drag the bottom down - **** you can't drag down a railing.**** ie uncheck Specify Railing on the Railing Tab and Close the DBX, Pull the wall down as needed , in Elevation is easiest , Open the DBX again re-Check Specify Railing and RE-Check generate on Low Platform. Convert back to a rail. The main drawback of doing it this way is that you get a single corner post that would be difficult to support. *Note : I just found you can do the drop on one side and then in plan view pull the wall around and over the Other two walls so the drop is done automatically. Try these Fascia Mount Deck Rails and see if they work . one is Metric from your Plan..... MHD_Fascia Mount Deck Railings.calibz

Turning on Show Arc Centers and Ends will help too so you can center the Wall Arc and the Custom Countertop Arc on top off each other , the use the Wall Arc Radius to work out the Radius of the Countertop. Actually I just found it easier to use the CAD Arc lines ( Polyline Tool ) and make two Arcs and then join them and convert to a counter-top ie if wall is 60" outside Radius set the inner arc to 53.5" radius and the outer arc Radius to 70" (very approximate for a 16" C.Top. and 4 1/2 wide wall) Also, it's good to have your Forum Signature filled in please, especially with the Software Version, and of course a Name is nice too ..............see mine below in Blue for how to do that.
