  1. I don't have a problem with it, the polylines it creates can easily be adjusted or deleted if reqd. I save some time if you have the model correct.
  2. Multiline currently not available in X7, lets hope for X8
  3. check for framing 1 floor down.
  4. IMHO terrain is one of the advanced features, it takes plenty of time and practice to master
  5. Have to agree with Wendy, we still want a job. Otherwise CA may as well just have a series of checkboxes on an introduction screen, choose the options you want and hit enter. after a period of time you have a set of con docs come out of the printer.
  6. You need to do several things to get the trusses to build auto. 1 set your ceiling height to 12' 2 give your trusses a top chord depth 3 reduce the webing from 25 1/2 inches 4 adjust the truss settings to give the look you want Basically the framing is a mess
  7. What camera are you using to "take views" for a section use the backclipped section camera.
  8. There are lots of people having plans on cloud storage. do a search of the forum you will find heaps on it.
  9. There appears to be an update in windows that is causing all printing from ANY programme to be delayed on some systems
  10. Currently do a save right before a complex operation that may be undo. Undo is a bit of a PITA sometimes it works a step at a time others not.
  11. Never knew that was there, I wonder how long its been around??
  12. converting a section to cad detail means it is not going to update, keep it live . Add text and any cad lines you require then send to layout, easily able to adjust line wieghts and if you change the model it will update. My advice keep it all live where possible. Use the capabilities of CA as a 3D modelling package not a 2D draughting package. As a note there are always exceptions to every rule.
  13. The external lintel is causing the problem, tried to do it without the ext lintel and it looks good then open mulled unit and add ext lintel and it goes wierd. Probably best to send to CA.
  14. Works perfectly fine here. Are you on a laptop with on board graphics card?
  15. What are your computer specs? maybe a video card problem as X7 is harder on cards than earlier versions.
  16. As Alan said, but a WAG if you are using a PDF printer driver there are problems with some of them.
  17. Its just predicting until CA says it. We can only go by what has happened in the near past. It used to be 18 month cycles, sometimes more.
  18. I tried having multiple details in one plan file, but I kept having to change 1 of them or delete 1 of them. It became a PITA so I have mostly gone to individual plan files for each detail. exceptions are one like window flashings where there is always a head, sill and jamb which always use all 3 so that makes a whole sheet. Since we have to detail each and every junction without showing a condition that does not appear on the particular project I find it much easier. then if I have a similar situation but slightly different for some reason I can just "save as" the one detail and alter then relink . As every project is different re style of arcitecture, ground conditions, cladding type it is the easiest way and does not slow the computer down like "cad details" used to.
  19. or in the CA library there is one I used it sometime ago. so cant remember the exact location.
  20. I have each detail in their own plan file, which I then send to layout. I do however have the main ones I use in most projects already linked to my template file which I save as each time. if I dont need a particular detail I just delete it from the project layout or if I need a similar detail I just relink that detail, then copy in the other details as reqd. I think similar to Joe but mine not quite as organised.
  21. I have not had a problem with this, my only suggestion is to shut down and restart machine.
  22. you have the layers for std area and internal area turned on
  23. That was what I meant just did not have cheif open, and yes it is a setting I rarely touch also.
