  1. johnny are you in some backwoods? We have to supply sections of all heads, sills and jambs with the appropriate flashings for every job and have done for years.
  2. Tell windows you are on a metered wifi conection, its a check box in settings somewhere and it will let you sort of control when the updates occur. I am finding getting started in WIN10 is really slow. However it was pretty good using CAX7 yesterday when I was 60 miles from an internet connection. So the problems of slowness that did not occur before are probably linked to updates updating.
  3. I would first copy a floor outline only and postition that polyline first then do as Robert said.
  4. My floor plans always show the shaded hatch if it has one in B&W. I select colour or b&w in the print DBX. Not sure what you have set wrong.
  5. Joe Finding the same here cant get on with win 10 machine it was upgraded from 8.1. But also tried a few of other sites and the odd ones time out. I have not touched my main machine which is win7 so that I can get things sorted in an orderly way. To stop downloaded I have set my wifi as being on a metered connection so am going to try if that has anything to do with it.
  6. Download Draftsite which is free and do whatever you want to ACAD drawings, layouts.
  7. dont think it has changed. Are all your snaps turned on? it may or may not affect the truss snapping.
  8. does not look like it is actually available in this part of the world, I just ried a couple of links and got the installation programme but when I ran that it would start and then just say "something happened" which is really intuitive and helpful.
  9. Perry thats why I asked if anybody had seen the upgrade.
  10. That just tells me my upgrade is reserved like it did last week.
  11. Anybody been offered thier upgrade?? I have not seen anything and are already halfway through the 30th.
  12. quickest would be to select same tool I think.
  13. The bigest downside currently to win10 is you get each and every update that microsoft deems you should have wether you want it or not. So without your control what will or wont work on YOUR computer is controlled by Microsoft. YOU have lost control of YOUR computer. Even non windows updates eg Nvidia will be supplyed by MS. The only way to cogain when you install updates is to PAY to be on a large bussiness plan-cost??
  14. I use Joes Method of all details in their own plan file which is linked to the template for the main ones. I keep my details in their own folder where all layouts can access them from. If I need a slightly different detail I can either just relink to a different plan or open do a save as and modify as required and rthen relink.
  15. Thats an archive file for backup. Where do you save your peoject files??
  16. Had a quick look at it but not sure which way you were wanting the planks, there was deffinitely something odd. It should not be that hard. the angle settings would not hold what they were set to.
  17. Dan / Kirk We appreciate the updates, we all know that even new equipment can fail.
  18. just insert a floor below. or floor above then swap.
  19. Use the insulation tool under the box tool pulldowm and manually draw the shape of the insulation in thge section view.
  20. That's a difficult one. She sounds like the person that would blame you for all her bad ideas. I would probably drop the job, but not sure how small of a comunity.
  21. Roofs can be reshaped as easy as a poly line. As Alan has found out it also lets you adjust everything else in the one DBX.
  22. You have 2 different wall sections. there is a setting that allows for the distance from the end of the wall, not on computer with CA so cant bring up window DBX. I have found also in the past that sometimes you can shift the wall junction then move window into place then adjust wall lenght back.
  23. draw the lines approximately where you want them. Then if they have not snapped to what you want select each line in turn and input the correct position in the DBX. It keeps everything live and you know they are in the correct place. You can then dimesion to them or add call outs or whatever.
