  1. Johnny have to agree, it can be useful at times. Maybe this should be in the suggestions area.
  2. It would help to know what your computer specs are. It is a good idea to have them in your signature. Currently we are only guessing, it may be a graphics card setting has been changed or the worst case the card is faulty. Or if a laptop you are now using the on-board graphics adapter.
  3. I use all live views, elevation and perspective, but as Scott does I have updates set to be manual. Its the updates that slow things down.
  4. Mike you have your upper and lower walls out of alignment, is this supposed to be the case?
  5. Have you tried reinstalling the printer driver? it looks as though that is the problem, or you have a hard setting on the printer that is limiting to 96 Dpi.
  6. Tim Not seen that problem but a few other odd things, which CA are saying attributed to graphics card. I have not had a chance to check now that I have updated drivers. I am using a GT660 card so very similar. I have glimpsed a message that is only there for a split second.
  7. Try the hometalk forum, that may be not an option in the non professional versions
  8. otherwise you have to select each of the rafters you want to change and then open and close. This is also useful if you change pitch or height of a roof plane. Although Scott's method is better, this lets you stay away from auto roof framing.
  9. If you have not got the same number or printer choices you will definitely need to reinstall like Micheal said.
  10. Try the Hometalk forum as it mayt be slightly differtent than for CA premier
  11. Dianne I just usually copy and paste the terrain into the house plan file then add a couple of dimensions and adjust the position with these and by rotating.
  12. I almost always build the terrain last, mainly because it can slow the file up quite noticeably. it is quite easy to move the terrain relative to the building.
  13. maybe try deactivating both then starting again, but do it while Ca is still at work. It may need a phonecall to them.
  14. my guess is you are using an old system which is being taxed too hard by X9, possibly video card? compare your system to those in our signatures. however just a guess.
  15. I have done a couple of churches over the years with no real problems. It all depends on the construction . One I did had steel portal frames.
  16. at least one of the invisible walls need to be no room definition, as CA thinks your door is now located on an internal wall.
  17. Are you looking at the file manager screen when you hit cntrl s ? if so what happens when you hit it once then refresh the file manager screen? does it change the time stamp? will try it at my end when I open x9.
  18. This is deliberately done by CA, there is documentation I have seen. Their reason was to be able to move forward, they needed to loose this ability to clean up the code. Anyway when was the last PL1 file? I can't remember which version, I had some PL1 files in 2006. had to go to old computer to find.
  19. Why do people say everyone prints to PDF first, I don't and don't personally know anybody that does. Everybody has their own methods and the extra step is lost time for me. I only print to PDF when it gets issued as a record.
  20. In the past you have had to have ssa active through till march sometime, just a thought.
  21. Been running it for a few months now with no problems. As there are no new biggies just mainly fixes to functionality so don't expect to find too many bugs.
  22. I would remove the serial# and CD key numbers off the post
  23. Charge for the hours it actually takes, generally more than expected. The contractor probably thinks you can push a button then hit the print button so you have to explain things usually.
  24. There probably will be very little change. But if getting a new system get the very best you can afford, as minimum is just that the bare minimum.
  25. Larry good vid. I definitely did not mean to knock the first method, but was not sure wether people realized it could be done at once. As for Michaels comments in the #38 post That would be my advice also.
