  1. draw the lines approximately where you want them. Then if they have not snapped to what you want select each line in turn and input the correct position in the DBX. It keeps everything live and you know they are in the correct place. You can then dimesion to them or add call outs or whatever.
  2. As requested here is what I did I have not yet put in all purlins/rafters for clarity
  3. Mick I have been researching dual booting over the last couple of days but have not found an answer as yet.
  4. Just delete the short offending part then drag the other wall to correct location and square it up at same time. External wall drawn continously in 1 direction as we had to do back in the early versions seems to solve most of these user error problems.
  5. Bernie Did 1 recently where rafters were actually purlins spanning between portal frames. I just went into cross section places cad boxes in the correct locations and then converted them to poly solids and specified the known lenght. I then went back into plan view and adjusted the positions. I also noticed you could convert all at once FYI.
  6. Mick They must be the same all over, mind you you guys also had leaky buildings.
  7. I leave my dims set to framing layer as that is what will be used for construction. For my existing measureups I laser measure to ext of lining then have to add on thickness manually, it does leave some room for error but I find it easier than adjusting the CA dim settings. my 02c
  8. We have to supply an EXISTING drawing and then PROPOSED for all alterations for us to get a building consent (permit). Then if the builder makes any changes during the construction for whatever reason an AS BUILT is required to achieve code compliance. Some authorities will allow minor changes others require an as built if the swing of a door is swapped.
  9. A proper nvidia card at least 600 series with min 2Gb on board . Check out my signature and also others to see what is working. I have found that X7 will not run without a dedicated card, my laptop works reasonably well more than adequate for field work.
  10. Go for it Perry I'm with you, most of the time I could not give a stuff where north is for renders (I need it for siting but thats all)
  11. the door has centered its self in the room I think but the dims are to the outside of the wall, therefore that wall may need to be flipped over it may have been drawn in the wrong direction?
  12. As I understand the EULA not allowed yo share. But as Lew suggested you may be able to buy a matching dinosaur off E bay that has all the libraries. however I would look to buying a newer version with a heap more functionality, and probably more chance of finding a legal copy on Ebay
  13. Are you on a laptop? are you using a dedicated video card? or on board? unfortunately only guesses without a plan.
  14. They are no longer on the website so therefore not available.
  15. I always do manual posts. Maybe lower ceiling height??
  16. If you manually open the roof plane DBX and lock pitch then adjust the baseline height by the reqd amount. can do all roof plane at same time if they have same base line, or can also adjust fascia top as another option. but lock pitch first.
  17. I would first reboot computer. then try again. there was a post yesterday with an experienced user not able to start either, maybe an update of windows is causing a hiccup??
  18. Have you inadvertantly turned off some of your snaps, this happens to me sometimes.
  19. I would upsize the power supply, increase the ssd size, and look at the win 7 pro OS. I would also look at the wd HDD maybe use black for faster disk access.
  20. Another guess try turning on all layers to see what layer it is on.
  21. "distribute or create derivative works" that appears to make it illegal.
  22. Mono slab edges can be formed by blockwork, therefore they have walls. it depends how deep you have to go for a foundation.
