door and window schudule in remodeling project
DRAWZILLA replied to Designer100's topic in General Q & A
I have set up my remodeling template plans to have all the existing items not to show up in any schedules. When I start the as-builts ,everything is existing, then when done do a save as -existing, then start the new and change everything over to new, including new walls, windows, doors , cabinets, etc. The schedules just fill out automatically. Everything for new and existing is already in my remodeling template plan.- 8 replies

some macro's are only good for X9 but most are good in X8

remember ,for the soffit problem ,to rebuild your roof planes with each change, unless you have auto roof framing on.
-
or just use a balloon frame wall, that's how they would build it.

Thanks Michael.

Did you turn off auto floor framing, if it is, turn it on and use the joist direction tool, it should work. Make sure the deck is not locked also. Under decking turn on auto framing or re-frame it.

Floor truss displays at incorrect height on cross section
DRAWZILLA replied to jlctspaces's topic in General Q & A
floor trusses are manually inserted ,so you need to select them all and use transform / replicate to raise or lower them or just delete them ,change the floor height and re-do.- 6 replies

Raised Foundation and Garage Slab? How To?
DRAWZILLA replied to HumbleChief's topic in General Q & A
I was just trying to do it automatically, you can just offset the footing in the garage to match the stem wall also automatically., isn't that better then workarounds? There does come a time when you need to shut off auto foundations and manually fix but not in this simple design. -
Raised Foundation and Garage Slab? How To?
DRAWZILLA replied to HumbleChief's topic in General Q & A
good thing b/c you really don't need any workarounds anyway for this condition, but there are other conditions that you will need the invisible wall, not sure why you are getting the sill. -
I think anyone would need more time

I was seeing it in your picture, so I assumed it was not. -

Here is my take on it very simple -
Raised Foundation and Garage Slab? How To?
DRAWZILLA replied to HumbleChief's topic in General Q & A
You can just make that stem wall invisible. -
Raised Foundation and Garage Slab? How To?
DRAWZILLA replied to HumbleChief's topic in General Q & A
It can be done very easily automatically to late now but will do in the morning, unless Michael's video did it for you. I think what you are talking about is when a slab butts into a raised foundation then it lowers the stem wall down to the slab height. -
Raised Foundation and Garage Slab? How To?
DRAWZILLA replied to HumbleChief's topic in General Q & A
Larry, you were ignoring the "Stem wall top (C) section which would be at -18 to give you a 6" stem wall -
No, watch Larry's video above, that's what I do.
