of course Rich, without laughter, there is nothing worth it

No, the roof beam is for beam at the roof rafter height like a ridge beam, but still horiz.. It does not slope with the rafters. if you want a sloping beam then use a rafter and change it's size

Try chief blueprint and see if that works
-
Could be your font used. I use acrobat DC.

Beware adjusting anything in cad will not show in 3d. I never use a cad detail for sections or adjust anything there.. There are several ways to do what you want in 3d, it would probably be best to adjust the brick ledge depth, that is new for X9 ( it was there, just didn't work for stem walls) and the simplest way in my view for 3d if you want that. Try to have everything live, it's just better.

change the material to brick and adjust the "Brick ledge depth" in the wall DBX to what you want.

I turn off room labels and use a macro for the room labels, I have more control that way. I also use a header macro label for openings. Search macro's here on this forum.

the question is a little confusing, I thought you wanted the beam to slope with the rafters by looking at the pic.

Manufacturers Catalogs Downloading to X8 Instead of X9
DRAWZILLA replied to HumbleChief's topic in General Q & A
or just save the file to your desktop, and open X9, and go to the lib. tab and import from there. Do not double click on the file. -
Any general challenges using chief for small church projects?
DRAWZILLA replied to Clemsongrad's topic in General Q & A
Chief wasn't developed for commercial work but it can be done if you have patience and willing to create things that Chief doesn't do. -
No ,should I? I am getting old though, so I can expect my pulse to stop on any given day. Please notify my wife as she will just leave me in my work chair thinking the checks will keep flowing in.

Sorry about that, thanks for that info, I have bookmarked that.
-
I can open X8 and X9 at the same time

Hi Dave, I thought I had a lifetime membership to your symbols only, is that gone now?
-
Try to shut down your computer and re-start, might work.

I have over 1600 CAD blocks in cad block management??
DRAWZILLA replied to zowie123's topic in General Q & A
I have hundreds in the lib. without any problems and actually keep the details I use all the time in my template layout. When I need a weird detail ,I just go to my lib, where you can create different folders , and get it and modify as needed and re-save it as a new detail if needed. -
Wall & Floor exterior issues in elevations views
DRAWZILLA replied to ACADuser's topic in General Q & A
I think that should be labeled an end truss. it would look different after a force rebuild. -
watch some of Chief's videos, search for window videos.
-
it's unfortunate but, in the future they ,might just take that away too..

if you use a product like Dex-o-Tex, for the decking, they can flash and seal the post, all around, maybe use a steel post so no shrinkage, then cap the short wall over but the seal is underneath the cap. you can also put the post on top of the seal but screws into the top of that short wall probably need to be engineered with posts at 48 ' o.c.

I have never used control-s ever, I just hit the save icon in the toolbar whenever I can but still have the auto-save to 2 minutes just in case I forget.
-
I store my plans by version, that way I know.
-
Yikes, this is one thing that must work correctly!!

I don't know any way to copy just the text styles. I think it's one of those "set it up and forget it" things
