  1. For now, I just set up all my section elevation cameras in my template plan and send them all to the layout template ,so it's already done. I use layout box labels for all those views.
  2. Long drive just for lunch, throw in some layer sets and anno sets and it's a deal. Anyway my wife won't let me play.
  3. Brian ,I just tried to use the truss base and it doesn't work anymore, with conv. framing. Don't know when this got changed. I pretty much manually build my roofs like Rob described above, so didn't notice. Sorry about that and thought you wanted this to work with auto roofs
  4. Me too, it would be nice, but I don't even want to try with 14 rooms it could get a little harry, nice but too much trouble still, I'll just stick to my method for 2 stories, until Chief deals with it.
  5. Here it is https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-01846/configuring-a-leica-disto-device-to-work-with-chief-architect-software.html
  6. I don't know as I have never done it, but I do know it's possible.
  7. You can use a truss base and it will overbuild even if you have no trusses
  8. Dealing with 50 different cities, I will put general notes on page 2 and beyond b/c a lot of cities want their own different special notes on page 1 Just kind of the way it is around here.
  9. yes, I just want to get in and out as fast as I can. Traffic is very bad around here and my appointments are between 10am and 2pm. After those hours it will take me an extra hour to get back.
  10. Yes Room Planner imports wall and doors ,but not anything else, like cabinets. For as-builts it's pretty good. also automatically inputs measurements from laser measurement devices. I do need to practice more with it though before I actually use it. I have practiced on my own house. I can see myself using room planner, I do need to get one of those portable lightweight laptop tables , just can't hold everything at once.
  11. Here is what I do for a 2nd flr. over existing http://screencast.com/t/DpqwiMsQMkhZ I add my ceil to the floor structure on the 2nd floor so wherever I have a second floor it automatically frames the ceiling and new floor joists Also when I say I add a p-solid to the section ,I mean p-line filled.
  12. Wrong, it will work without lowering the wall if you don't extend the ceiling plane line beyond the wall surface
  13. Chief has room planner for as-builds. Chief has greatly improved it , with wall thickness and such. I think I'll give it another try.
  14. Yes that's the way I do it, I misinterpreted your Quote when you said ceiling finish.
  15. And you just thickened the drywall to drop that ceiling--that's new to me. Exactly how does that frame.
  16. I'm talking about just changing the surface thickness- not framing.
  17. But that won't frame ,I would use a ceiling plane and add your own ceiling height or create a floor structure from above with the dropped ceiling included in the structure. X9 fixes that
  18. I like it, looks great for me, if it works as advertised and accurate.
  19. David, are these symbols on the old site also?
  20. Well , at least here, no changes what so ever, but it is really up to the building inspector ,and they always make you change the plan to take any liability off them.
