  1. I would say , move something else to the other drive. You can move just the data file to another drive without a problem if you want
  2. Funny thing, I'm not having that problem using the latest NVidia drivers.
  3. Yes and have known ,how to, forever, it is a fact, for many years, that this problem has caused many people ,PROBLEMS, that they didn't know how to fix. There should be an easier way. I'll bet Chief also gets a lot of calls about this.
  4. What are your computer spec's?
  5. IMO, room planner just isn't ready for this kind of detailed work yet, it good for some people though, like homeowners who want to layout their homes.
  6. I'm not talking about painting an interior wall color, I'm talking about painting an exterior surface material, it's been nothing but trouble for a lot of people here for every version I've ever seen. Most people don't know how to get it to change back.
  7. Again try not to use the spray can on exterior finish, Just build the correct wall type, you will find you have less headache like the one you are having now.
  8. There is, just change the material to default and create a new wall with the correct material, I never paint walls.
  9. I do a lot of remodeling and have created about 30 different walls for all the different conditions you could run into. These walls are in my template plan so I don't have to create new walls for every job. Sometimes I also have to create more, it depends on the project. Create a new and existing wall for every type of wall you might use. One trick is to use the same exterior surface for the new and existing walls so you won't create a line in vector views, where the two different walls meet. I know that will not be good for the material list but looks better on the plan. New stucco and existing stucco just didn't work for me. I just don't want that pesky line.
  10. I also only keep a couple of the latest versions on the C-drive, but I keep all the old data folders , and job folders ,on my 4tb backup drive. You never know when an old client might call for more work,. and it has happened a lot ,or you might work on a neighbor's house with the same floor plan. I find that older plans are easily brought forward to a new version with minor mods. I never go back and actually use the older versions. Oh, also backup everything to Carbonite for extra protection even though I have never had to use it.
  11. Actually it is Joe who is the master macro man, I'm just learning.
  12. Dermot, I'm going to give that one a shot. What I do now is have custom macro room labels and in this case just add the correct ceiling height to it for that room.
  13. I've seen too many people here have slowness problems with the Zeon's
  14. You need to learn about reference sets.
  15. JOE IS ABSOLUTLY CORRECT, I WAS JUST TESTING HIS KNOWLEDGE
  16. Vaulted ceilings have been a problem for me as we have to vent each bay using eave vents and in some cities ,ridge vents to the high vents.
  17. I use the O'Hagan's low profile type, I wonder if you need auto dampers with those, haven't had to yet, but I usually don't do much in heavy fire areas
  18. Johnny, beware, Laguna beach has some specific height studies if you are hillside or blocking any views of neighbors.
  19. The slab will keep the post and pads from moving around so we don't need the grade beams.in most cities, I work in 50 cities down here and they are all different with what they want..
  20. Around here even a patio cover must have a continuous grade beam if no slab is present, to connect the posts.
  21. 50% high and 50% low vents and it should say what vents you are using and what size in sq. inches each one is.
  22. use a floor material region for that
  23. every program on Earth has bugs, I haven't seen any bugs I can't get around since 2005.
  24. Don't get me wrong, you can do just about anything with Chief, it's about weather there is a program out there that's built for that kind of project.
