No permits--what's that? never heard of that animal.

. A lot of times we actually have to cut them also. When doing remodeling plans we have to show the existing trusses and how they tie into the conventional framing. Do very many of those and have for 40+ years.

Some cities have wanted me to enlarge that cad block, in which it's very easy to do. Just re-do the cad block, the text is just too small, save it to your lib. for future use.

Flooring Quantities Include Area Under Cabinets
DRAWZILLA replied to craboulas's topic in General Q & A
every one of my builder clients do not have any flooring under the cabinets, they might fill in under the DW or range but never under the cabinets. They are in the business to make money though. and build as less expensive as possible. If it's not on the plans , it won't happen. -
How to Show Metric Units In Door & Window Schedule?
DRAWZILLA replied to tchomes's topic in General Q & A
Really, I never want to change to metric at this point, over my cold dead body. would you rather change to feet and inches and it will never happen as long as they teach Imperial here in every school. -
I also updated my video card to the latest without any problems.

I have done a few but I don't like the software for room planner ,no consideration for the exterior lot and I must take out my paper to do that, no problems using the laser though. Even if we could just draw lines easily for exterior and lot lines that would be better.
-
What I would like to know is, what new features will that give us.
-
Yep, i.m just saying it works great with room planner why not Chief.
-
I don't need to do any of that on my Apple iPad. , it works automatically.
-
a few versions ago Chief changed that on purpose so the software will be faster, like I said in an earlier post.
-
of course it isn't, do you use the print preview in the print DBX.
-
Thanks Dave, that's why I don't see it as I always keep everything live
-
oh, I care, just never see that but My 40+ years of drawing have been exclusively in residential, and have had some pretty big jobs.
-
Yes all of them display correctly, but I really never think of it b/c they all come out great.
-
Is everyone sure that it's not the automatic blurring Chief does on purpose to make your drawing experience faster but when you print it , it's crisp as heck.? I never have that problem.
-
sorry, I just don't see it.
-
still don't see a problem yet. Which version did you draw this in? Maybe zoom in closer
-
I see shadows there, they just need to be darkened a bit.
-
Ok, sorry about that , I thought he meant window and door labels, but it's still easy to just turn off layout box labels in the layout layerset
-
I really don't want to have to keep track of every minute I spend on a Job, Win some lose some ,so I use the total job method, (PSF). How much varies greatly per your location and skill. I only get a retainer for only for clients I don't already know. Long time clients I just bill at the end of the job. Never not been paid for over 40 years now. I.ve been lucky that way or maybe it's that I'm 6-'7" and scare the heck out of them.
-
Why , Change layer sets and the label is gone, is that not automatic
-
It's easy, just create a new layer-set for specifically sending to the layout with that label layer turned off.
