Sorry, I didn't notice you were using ver 10, I can't help, I don't even have it on my computer anymore.
-
You can also use the new floor and wall material tool to get what you want.
-
The one your going to add to the plan to make it easier to do, I usually always have a 2nd floor even if there isn't one in the plan, so you easily can add walls if needed with out calling them attic walls, then you can show those windows in plan view with their labels. I learned this from Scott a long time ago. I just like to do it manually

Aerial view not updating with a layout page change?
DRAWZILLA replied to DRAWZILLA's topic in General Q & A
Here is the response from T.S., I just got. Hello Perry, Thank you for contacting Technical Support, my testing of the Aerial View pane, docked in any position, updates both Plan and Layout views the same. Are you able to reproduce this behavior on a new plan/layout? These are all new plans, Not sure what this means. -
I also wish we could make one camera callout and copy the rest, why do we have to create each one separately. I keep about 20 cameras in my template plan just for that reason.

Aerial view not updating with a layout page change?

Thanks Glen, I posted it to T.S. yesterday and haven't heard anything yet -
I'm also curious about some of the east coasters.

To remove the "Phantom" slab just make the room have no floor and add your own. I will sometimes use a Court room.
-
I've done these and I would just place a full height wall on the 2nd floor and pull up the bottom in section / elevation view and put a roof beam under it.
-
Is you room called Deck or Porch. If it's a deck it should frame for you if you have auto deck framing checked. You could post the plan and someone here or I could look at it for you.
-
Chief's been that way forever.
-
When you don't have a foundation yet in your plan, Chief will create one for you (in 3d) but it's not in the plan to change it. You've seen it all the time, remove your foundation and take a 3d view, you will see a foundation there.
-
Are you wanting the slab face changed? If so you are using a phantom slab--not actually a slab, you have to build your foundation, then you can add a material to the face to whatever you want.

Try wall type, and what the exterior surface material is.

I like to use railing walls(Post to beam) for those. I just added an extra p-solid for the extra post in this case. It's also a porch room.

Aerial view not updating with a layout page change?
DRAWZILLA replied to DRAWZILLA's topic in General Q & A
Thanks Joe, wish it did. I would like to start using it. This will change if you delete the aerial view and bring it back. I have to think it isn't working properly. -
Is anyone else using the Aerial view with a layout page showing , not able to get the aerial view to change along with a page change using the Project browser. It doesn't work for me. like this

A toilet manual Genius idea. I have no idea what to do with my hands most of the time, and by the way, after 7 years of learning Chief, I still learn something every day. You will never stop learning, its just too much.

Actually I have no eyes, my wife has wired my brain so I would take out trash and do dishes.

Remember too many cad details will slow down Chief.
