  1. You don't need to look for a driver, just click on retain os driver
  2. Mine would take forever to change about 30 sec's but would not drag anything unless I sat there for another 30 sec's. I just changed my mouse driver to the OS setting and it now seems to be ok, for now. I use a Logitech performance MX mouse.
  3. Doug, that sounds like a problem I'm having also, sent it in. Things have gotten real slow with sections and camera views all open at the same time. Very hard to draw anything.
  4. I had 3 rep points real fast ,b/c I asked for them to see what happened, and then there was no post box to post in, in any thread, and I was logged in, was it an automatic thing? I logged in again and again.
  5. Wow, I'm really in trouble when II can't even pronounce it.
  6. I just gave everyone a green ,but Scott didn't get one b/c there is a limit each day and I ran out when I got to Scott's. Sorry bud, I'll catch you tomorrow.
  7. Might be an automatic thing 3 reds and your out
  8. Hay, I just got back on, thanks guys and don't give me anymore red things. They must have put me back on after Scott said he was not going to post anymore, what a friend!!
  9. I'm not talking monitor, just printed to PDF.
  10. You can zoom in on anything real close and get pixilation , we are talking about printing and 300 dpi hasn't gave me any problems. Check out Doug's post.
  11. Ok, a little test, everyone give me bad points and see if I get kicked out of here.
  12. Glen, but the wall material region tool will work in that case, with easy adjustments.
  13. Don't count on the materials list to be all accurate, check it often. Depending on the quality of your model, the materials list can have omissions or mistakes. Anything made w/ p-solids won't show.
  14. If you search dpi, pdf here, there has been a lot of talk about this. Maybe it's in the old Forum also.
  15. use the new "wall material region" tool, it works.
  16. I do know that you should make renders as large as you can, on the screen, before you send them to the layout, and use the highest resolution you have available in your video card. that's the only way to make them better. You have no control of render resolution when sending to layout other then what I mentioned. Ray traces have complete control of resolution.
  17. Yes, you set the north arrow and Chief sets the sun angle
  18. Are you using Chief's built in PDF or another PDF program. I use adobe and never have any problems using 300 dpi (24x36) but you should be able to use 100 and still be good. That setting really doesn't do anything unless you plan on printing an extra large size print.. What you see on the monitor is 92 dpi and is all you need for that
  19. With interior doors, you just check interior and both are the same. If you want different sides with interior just go to the first page of the DBX and check different interior and exterior. Interior doors now have an exterior side also. Just uncheck it on the first page and they will both be the same
  20. Jared Yes, that is incorrect, to figure 1/2 walls on porches and garages, but its close enough for me, until fixed, whenever they get around to it. (a few s.f.) . I just use the room finish schedule to figure square footage w/ totals included. You can also include or not any room.
  21. Jim, I have also seen some problems lately with Auto-foundations where they slow down the program a lot, especially slabs. I have a ticket in now. I usually start off using auto-foundation, then turn it off but it is causing some problems lately. I will let everyone know what Chief says.
  22. I don't see any framing in either of those pdf's. Chief is all about layers, you can show anything in any view you want just by turning them on and off. Check your layers for those things and you have to frame it to show it. Turn on auto framing floors-ceilings / walls / roofs.
