  1. Yes, but I have one of the highest cards and still having problems
  2. It seems that after I move a label in elevation view it hangs up, and I cannot select anything else unless I hit f12, then it refreshes.
  3. No go, after further review, labels are still causing me a problem.
  4. ok, found the problem, it was a setting in the NVidia control panel. I had it set for 16 and should be 4. thanks everyone Edit, didn't fix it.
  5. Wow, I re-boot every day and shutdown every night. I thought it might be my mouse but I plugged in another one and, same thing. The only other thing might be in preferences b/c those don't transfer with the plan. Thanks for testing
  6. Ok, here is the plan for your pleasure. Try a front elevation and select a few windows or doors if you can. labels are on. label problem plan.zip
  7. A ceiling / roof beam will go on its own layer if you use those tools, I do all the time, love it and the won't get deleted when re-building the floor ceil joists.
  8. Ok, it might be a setting, but tech support can't find anything yet and they were also having this problem thanks, Tommy
  9. I have been running into a problem with labels in elevation view, a big slowdown in performance. here is the video http://screencast.com/t/yLypKp7tyEs Anyone else having this problem?
  10. I have also seen this, not sure why.
  11. I think the last time took longer b/c of the mac thing. I'll bet their on time this year, it will come out with the show in early feb.
  12. Ok then he has some on chieftutor.com then. look in his section.
  13. look at his YouTube channel. he did some new ones
  14. Yes, I really don't do door or window sections as I'm not even sure what the contractor is putting in b/c the homeowner hasn't selected it yet, most of the time.
  15. I agree, the best thing would be to block up the plate line to carry the roof load, I was just commenting on the way his 2nd drawing showed, not sure whitch one he wants.
  16. Exactly, that's why I love them, and you get a laugh at the same time, why you ask, b/c we have all been there, and can relate to them
  17. Yes, Richard, I would run the c.j. through to connect with the rafters or provide separate rafter ties. In most standard conditions 5-16d nails are usually ok unless you have something unusual going on there. I think his first post shows that.
  18. Actually I really don't draw many cad details, if any, these days. I try to find one from my lib, that's close and modift then save it for the future.
  19. Sorry go to go for an appointment now, will look at it when I get back. Maybe someone else can look at it.
  20. What I'm trying to say is you will benefit from just drawing using Anno-sets if you are like me and continuously changing views ,Floor, framing, foundation, roof, It a huge time saver. Different scales also. remember when we use to have to change the text, dimensions, lines, cad default, with each switch of the views---well no more.
  21. Lew, Anno-sets have been around for a while now and I just can't understand why everyone isn't using it. Anno-sets are one of Chief's #1 "time savers" of all time. Once set up its done and you never have to think about again.
  22. If there is no wall I'd have to do it manually. I would have used a railing wall ( post to beam) so you could have a wall to change if you wanted to do it that way. Post the plan so we could see exactly what's going on there.
