  1. More money means they can work on the programming longer and have more of them, Chief always does their best with what they have. Everyone always works on making things faster. Chief is actually working pretty good for me but I have decent equip, that also has a lot to do with it.
  2. Are you using a macro to show lineweights???,, like Ron
  3. NOT HOW EFFICIENT IT IS JUST, A BIGGER FASTER ENGINE USING PREPIRITORY METHODS, THAT ONLY THEY HAVE. They are different under the hood
  4. You can always just turn that off, and I always do at some point along the way but it's nice to start off with them on. Just goes quicker that way for me.
  5. Its all about the text styles, my friend, I don't think macro's have anything to do with it. You need to create a "door label" text style for it, then change it there
  6. Here in California I've been doing energy calc's for over 20 years now, but they have taken it too far. Starting in July almost everything has to be inspected by a different special inspector, not the regular inspector but a special one, I guess the regular inspector is too busy setting in his truck. That cost money. Doing the calc's have gotten very complicated and what I use to do for free will now cost money b/c of the time it will take to do them. On top of that Chief's export to rescheck will not work with it so it will have to be done the old way. Or maybe I won't do them at all
  7. That's what I'm doing right now.
  8. I know I've seen one but couldn't remember where it was.
  9. Well, here is how I do it
  10. I always try to keep it simple b/c I hate typing. And yes, you are correct for sloping terrain (thanks for adding that) but this is your" secret out of the box method" and Chief knows nothing about that, use at your own risk and it works good.
  11. there are a lot of video's on how to do this online. Check out chieftutor.com , also Chief's own videos at their website.
  12. Do you have it checked in the dimension defaults?
  13. Not automatic but you can use the post tool and it will give you a pier automatically (adjust in the framing /post) DBX first. Make one then multiple copyusing the exact spacing you need.
  14. have you tried this one
  15. With a lot of changes, the codes here go every 3 years, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016.
  16. How fast we can scream depends on the engine used. New and faster engine means more money. Revit starts at 6,000 plus, I'm sure it has a faster engine.
  17. ok I thought you wanted the door label to change not the callout or the schedule.
  18. I hate to tell you guys but the current code is 2013 around here.
  19. create a text label style for door labels and make it anything you want
  20. Actually here, we cannot end a footing without a small pad. but you might try using an opening if you want the footing to continue thru to the other side. If I understand you correctly
