  1. 20 years, wow. You must have invented Chief. I'll bet that was back in the day when you had to draw every line.
  2. Maybe just a little faster for me. The general slowdown is still there though.
  3. Joe, I have a lot of details in my lib. I couldn't possibly put all them in a cad window. I can imagine how slow that would make chief run.
  4. Sorry, I guess I would have to see the symbol and how its made
  5. Try solid fill , move to front
  6. Ruby just saves you time and I'm all for it, I have a lot of macro's I got from friends here plus I use ruby for most of my text notes on the plan, you know like the text you have on every plan you do. It's real simple to create text macro's. You just type or copy it in to Ruby, save the macro, and forget it. The good thing is that when you make a change to a text macro, it changes every instance you use it on the plan. I'm shocked more people don't go nuts over this.
  7. I imagine you could use Dropbox, I just want the convenience of letting them do it. 10 buck a month sounds right. You pay for bandwidth, 2 gig's a month, I never get that much traffic so never been close to using 2 gig's in 1 month. With the free screencast you get far less.
  8. I have noticed in the past and today , when you block text somewhere along the line it loses it's checks, in the auto height and width.
  9. Those macro's come with the program, other than that you must make them or get some from a friend.
  10. I just copied from 1 layout to another yesterday, What Joe said, it works
  11. SnagIt used to be free but I use the paid version, and the paid Screencast account for storing your videos
  12. I also do video's for clients, so some are private, but anything I have done here, are already here.
  13. Scott, if you use the wall covering from the room DBX, in a shower it will also cover the glass walls from the inside, looks ok from the outside but some angles don't look correct. For me it happens every time, look from the inside of the shower room
  14. ok it's good to download now, Sorry for the screw up. Like Joe says, just use the "place lib object" to get it on your toolbars. don't forget to save it to your lib first.
  15. ok here is a blank plan with the schedule and label Ok I forgot to shut down the file , how stupid is that? It's good now plan notes 2.zip
  16. Yes but the new one stays active all the time
  17. I did this short video about the Joe Carrick phantom plant schedule turned into a plan note or key schedule. I love this thing. http://screencast.com/t/jnlkuc4xlIfP
  18. Do you have 2 door schedules in your plan
  19. I'll do a video if anyone is interested, Joe invented a great thing here, I just have it in my template plan and it's ready to go instantly. love it a lot until Chief adds this to the Schedules PS I started another thread with the video .and plan
  20. It automatically numbers the notes using the phantom plant method, very fast and easy. you can also copy any number for the same note elsewheree on the plan
  21. I use the ALDO (active layer display options) now for that. Just select anything and uncheck the display in the layer-set, very easy and fast.
  22. Make sure all your roof plane lines are straight, if they are just a little off, things just get messed up. Also re-join all the roof planes to one another. Might help.
  23. Just thinking that "c" is the default for concentric mode, could be very easy to accidently hit it, I know I've don it. Just trying to help that's all
  24. You may have hit the hot key for that, change the hot key of delete it.
  25. I keep most of my notes in the lib. I also store notes, I use all the time, in Ruby b/c if I need to change a note, just change the macro text and it changes everywhere on the plan, not just the one instance.
