  1. Do you really want the liability for that, I don't, Let an engineer do that and just include it in your price. I do that with every job I do.
  2. Of course Revit does a lot more than Chief, it better, for 6 grand min. I really don't think Chief wants to go that way. They all have their programming problems. I believe Chief really want to improve the program using Chief tools and concentrating on what it does best.
  3. Yes but that has nothing to do with ray-tracing. Check your ray-trace defaults. I also notice a general slowdown in X7 but it is still in Beta, it should speed up when the release is final.
  4. Isn't it better to seek largest base you can? Seeking us common folk, is just a better business plan. Sell more programs, make more money. Architects also love Chief, b/c it's that good.
  5. I know Joe is good, so you must have improved a lot, good for you buddy.
  6. Glen has been here a very long time, he knows. Lets face it Most Architects just won't buy Chief b/c most also do Commercial work, Chief is not really suited to them. At least right now the forum is busier than I have seen in 10 years.
  7. I keep my "software edge smoothing" to zero in both preview and final (Let the card do that ,not the software) but only the CPU handles the ray-traces. What you show is really only for renders not ray-traces. Check your ray-trace setup to compare with X6. There are some settings there that will extend the time it takes.
  8. Thanks Jintu, but wouldn't the ceiling heights go back to default, I'll try it but I really never do walkthrough's.
  9. If you do raytraces, I would up the processor to at least 3ghz or higher
  10. Not sure, but I believe you need to pair them up before they will connect. also older phones and Gen 1 ipads won't work.
  11. no problem here also, it got to be something else
  12. That's strange ceiling planes usually always frame. Is everything turned on?
  13. I think Chief uses their own built in antialiasing, and doesn't use it from your video card at all, maybe they could if they had the video card do it.
  14. I believe that the lights change depending on what and where you have lights in that room.
  15. Thanks Joe, I have been saving them, now I know
  16. Until they become the Chino Padres and the Los Angeles Chargers.
  17. That could be the "vertical" slab you are seeing in camera view. I like to call it a Porch so the wall framing will frame on the upper level. you also have to uncheck the "mono slab" also. Leave nothing checked in the floor section.
  18. Don't you mean Don't re-build the roof planes, reframing should not give you new roof planes.
  19. Or call it a porch and uncheck "floor in this room"
  20. Bryce, looks like Pismo in the background, nice
  21. You got that right, for me, Family and friends are free (except engineering), always have been. I usually get a free dinner out of it anyway.
  22. Father in law, if you don't do it , you'll hear about it the rest of your life. Do it this time, just for your piece of mind.
  23. Greg I know, but most people don't know that. I use adobe, you can also use a password to lock it. There are many other programs on line that have better locks that are foolproof but cost bucks. If I was in the stock plan business ,I would look into those.
  24. Then I wouldn't do it and move on. Do you have a written contract people sign. I always have somewhere in my contract that original files are mine, and they just buy a service.
