  1. remove the floor in the room DBX and use a ramp as the floor. Not exactly sure what your condition is though.
  2. You can just set up a room finish schedule to show that. you can set up a lot of other things in it, like square footage, and it will total it automatically.
  3. What power supply do you have ,how many watts? Sounds like a heat problem in your computer, Make sure the fans are running and clean your fans and vacuum it out. It also could be a power supply is failing. Or your power supply is too little for your equip. you are trying to run. Just guessing
  4. no, if you have a surface you can use Chief from that
  5. You can also just use a bearing line as a separator.
  6. I always start a job using the proposed plan and when I'm done drawing the existing, I do a save as existing plan ,from the proposed plan. Then you never have to re-send or rename anything. You just keep drawing the proposed and it keeps generating to the layout. I would just send the existing plan to its page
  7. You may have to raise or lower the roof planes, if not set to "auto rebuild roof planes.
  8. Did you have the setting on performance or balanced?
  9. We don't want to get left in the proverbial dust.
  10. For me Chief seems faster using windows 10 and I haven't had any problems so far. I like it
  11. LOGITECH PERFORMANCE MX
  12. While all this talk goes on, what I want to know is "Any hints on X9". I starting to get very crazy wondering. Please, oh, and I'm not having any problems with Chief. What some people call workarounds, I call knowing how the program works. I know there are some things that need a little TLC and I'm sure Chief will fix it on their schedule, so I don't worry about it. Just bring on X9, I have never been disappointed yet.
  13. The people in this forum are just a very small portion of the users that use the program.
  14. Scott are you using always update or update on demand? Sometimes I find that I have to actually open the view and close again( not always) to get the view correct.
  15. yes we need to be able to have ceil joist going one direction and floor joists going the other. that's how I do a 2nd floor over the existing house leaving the existing ceiling joists. Now I have to fake it with no ceil joists at the existing (but leaving the space for them) and add them to the sections as needed, a bit of a pain but doable. anyone say workarounds, I like um.
  16. Reason I ask is that there was a problem similar to that in early X8 but was fixed. I don't know b/c it doesn't happen to me which leads me to think some setting is wrong somewhere.
  17. Ok Scott, then I guess it can't be done and everyone is out of luck.
  18. Do you have the latest and greatest update for X8?
  19. I always wondered just what the heck that tool did, thanks Glen
