  1. I do those using rooms all the time, must be a balcony room to do it this way. Did you use post to beam with a railing?
  2. I do it using a detail of the handrail.
  3. I would treat it just like a room called Balcony using railing walls (post to beam). That way it's included in Schedules and materials list.
  4. Got a new computer, not slow for me.
  5. Get the best one you can, you'll need it ,if not later. The more video memory the better. I would stick with NVidia, but that's just me.
  6. to export a picture JPG, etc., you must export as "export picture", works for me.
  7. right now I'm getting 50 passes in 3 minutes, so it's still a "Crappy ray-trace" as we call it, but sure turns out good. You may just need more passes
  8. Nice suggestion guys ,forgot about that one Eric, thanks
  9. not seeing anything to help understand what you want
  10. Thanks Joe, every little bit helps and your macro club is great I use every free macro every month
  11. Yes, I know what the tool does, but if Chief could arrange it so using Active layer set would just copy the existing layer set, and you could change that, then you could just click on the real electrical layer-set to get back. Kind of a working layer-set.
  12. What about when you add a room and you need to steal light and ventilation from the new room to show a combined 2 rooms calc. Any chance of that? Happens to me all the time. the only thing I could think might work is a no -room def between the 2 rooms, but in most cases I need the room def.
  13. I DO. It doesn't change the original Anno-set, and 1 click and back to the anno-set.
  14. Isn't that what "using active defaults" already is?
  15. The simple answer to this is to create a new 2nd electrical Anno-set, "Electrical w- furn. and framing" ,1 click and it's there, then just click back when done.
  16. We already have the square footage macro and the window area macro, we just need the total and calculate macro.
  17. Like I said ,I use about 6 more Anno-sets than what Chief gives us ,and add some when needed. You can use Anno-sets however you want, then don't jump all over my posts with your method is better. to me it's not ,and anyway you have no idea how I use them. I guess I don't understand how you use them, good luck, just trying to help you understand. We all use different ways of doing things and all are welcome here, then you get to choose what you like, that's what this forum is for. Bring on all the different ways good and not so good. That's how everyone learns. I just happen to like my way until another better one comes around.
  18. I don't think I'll fall for that one. right now , too busy to do that. You figure it out , your a big boy. If you could only tell me where you have a problem and what you don't understand, then maybe.
  19. Actually I don't use that many Anno-sets, I only use what I need. 6 more than what Chief gives you. Michael , you just don't understand Anno-sets like I do and that's ok.
  20. I have done Safe rooms under a porch within the basement, can be done, but would need to see exactly what your conditions are to help. Not automatic though, at least the ones I have done
  21. You all know you can have more than 1 electrical Anno-set, just create a new electrical Anno-set with furniture and framing. 1 click is all you need.
