  1. I just don't understand those foreign DAM languages
  2. Yep when in doubt re-boot, is always the answer
  3. is attic walls checked in your camera view? That's what they are.
  4. I think Chief placed the outlookers at the bottom of the rafters you are using. You have to move them manually from there.
  5. Agree w/ Ben, you will spend a lot of time waiting for the less expensive plotters unless you have a separate computer just for printing. The are just too slow for production work.
  6. If you need to have an accurate framing, this won't work, I hope Chief will fix this. the first post shows a hip or valley which we all know need to be a size larger than the rafter and Chief calls this a ridge and there is no way to have ridge hip and valley the same size, for me they are all different sizes, manually fixing these is all we can do at this point..
  7. Please stop ,just make your observation and end it, why do you like to attack me b/c I also have my side too and anyone who cares can make up their own mind. They did try to get rid of Designers.
  8. Richard, I WAS THERE AND I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. DO YOU.
  9. jpg's are bad (pixilation) pdf's are good, they just print better in my experience.
  10. I think its more about what the general populous can afford, rather than the design of any home. everything is really about money after all.
  11. I have been complaining about the Rafters showing below the ceiling line for many versions now. The program just won't cut oversized rafters at that point. In almost every job I have the hips are much larger than the rafters ( because of bearing hips now), Just changing the hip size won't do it for me. I use framing labels and we need the actual size shown with a cut at the bottom. Right now I have to shut off the rafters in these interior views but then I don't get the rafters showing outside through the windows. Chief please fix the framing to be as it would be in real life.
  12. I don't ever get junk with Acrobat paid version. But I always have the latest, now use Adobe Acrobat DC. You can also reduce-optimize file size with it
  13. Clicking on trusses will (even if you do not have trusses)do the same thing--0" birdsmouth cut
  14. If you are using Adobe acrobat, they have a "save and send" tool that you can send any size file you want. As far as getting Pdf's to the layout, just use the Pdf import tool where you can import just one page of a 20 page doc, if you want.
  15. Years ago they tried that in California, so what did they do, they grandfathered all designers that joined a designers group,(money only --no test) to licensed Architects ,in hopes of getting rid of Designers. Didn't work.
  16. Thanks Ben, I'll check it out, haven't checked for a while.
  17. Only problem with Chiefs built in pdf is it creates huge file size as compared to Adobe.
  18. It's already here in southern cal. Today the plan checker wanted a detail of a non-bearing wall, getting worse every day. The California green codes are everywhere around here, most cities don't even know what it is, yet they want pages of notes on every plan. I'm not a landscaper, I guess I'll now have to hire a landscape Architect for everything.
  19. Thank you, there is no other material for flat roof/ deck materials, we need one. Hay, Chief try Dex-o tex for decking.
  20. Anytime I send a dwg to my engineer, he usually has to fix the line-weights to what he wants.
  21. Yes I also use the mineral surfaces all the time for decks and roof crickets, why would they discontinue these and where can we get new surfaces. I guess I'll have to go back also, but I already updated. We really need these, I use them for a dex-o-tex decking surface. Scott, can you send me just the mineral surfaces lib.
  22. I still have the GDW but it gives me some trouble when installing in windows 10.
  23. anything you put in the label, will show only if you have included "label" in the window schedule items.
