  1. The mullion depth for mulled windows is controlled by.......the Mullion Depth setting under the Options panel.
  2. Does the same slowdown happen if you navigate the library folders directly in the library browse? ie, without using the Material Painter.
  3. That one is a real sneaky one as it is illogical to have a setting like that. If you toggle all layers on, one would not expect for something to be toggled off. But it has been around for a long time now.
  4. Turn off the "Walls, Main Layer Only" layer.
  5. Scott, I just switched over to a vanilla iMac. If you want me to do a test, give me a yell.
  6. Johnny, As I understand it, you had a link between a plan file and a layout file. You did a Save As with the plan file and saved to a new name. You then expect your layout to link to the new plan file automatically?
  7. Chopsaw, No problems working out the mathematical relationship. The values are displayed in scientific or exponential notation I will post a screenshot when I get a chance.
  8. You are not explaining yourself very well. I will have a guess: Have you saved any text information or macros in your default Room Label defaults. Can you explain what you want the end result to be?
  9. I have ZW (zoom window) mapped as a shortcut. I can start the command, hit ZW, draw the zoom window (Chief does the zoom) and then I can continue with the original command and snap as necessary.
  10. You can place the windows at any depth in the wall. Open the window's dbx...Frame panel... uncheck Fit Frame To Wall. Give the window frame the desired Depth Inset.... A negative value will move the window to the outside of the wall. A positive value will move the window to the inside of the wall. Using this setting, you can even move the window frame right out of the wall thickness. Another thing. You could have avoided having the wall move when you changed it's definition by first going to General Wall Defaults (Alt+Q) and changing the Resize About to Outer Surface. This would avoid the process you went through in moving the wall back to its original location.
  11. Chad, Sounds like the Match Properties and Apply Properties tool. But I don't think that you can apply the settings to all objects of that type in the plan. You have to click on each object that you want to change. You can change all objects of the same type in the plan if they are using a dynamic default - then you just need to change the default and all objects using the dynamic default will change. PS. I just posted at the same time as you Mick.
  12. How would you build that detail in real life?
  13. Are you looking for something like this. If not, post a sketch.
  14. Depending on your situation, you may be able to use a solid railing with a custom top rail.
  15. Are you sure your main wall layer is set to the framing layer and not the external cladding layer?
  16. Chopsaw, I'm not sure what you did because I haven't got access to Chief. Why are you using a symbol? From memory, my method used the newels as the stumps - very easy to change the spacing, size, materials, etc. ie, to change the timber stumps to brick piers.
  17. There is a way you can use a railing wall to build stumps ( or piers) - including a bearing beam above. i am away from my computer for another week or so and will post again if you still need help then.
  18. Have you checked the wall layers in your wall definition - particularly your main layer.
  19. Or you could try using a ramp
  20. I am not at my computer at the moment but from memory, I think you can use a solid rail and use top rail as the glass by changing the top rail settings like height, width, material, etc
  21. You can use the Material List to do that.
  22. Yes, i understand all that, but.. In this case, the User catalog is not displaying - we want to make it display. What you are describing is a way to hide everything apart from the User catalog, but...if the User catalog is not displaying....? You can filter the User catalog so it is the only catalog to display, but you can't use a filter to make the User catalog display if it is not displaying for some reason.
  23. Sounds good, but probably not the correct answer in this case, because you can't filter the User library.
  24. Similar to this answer in another thread. Here is the pic from the other thread. Apply the same solution to your problem.
