  1. you have intrigued me with this. what does this mean? I think this is referring to the fact that in older versions of Chief you had to draw walls in a clockwise direction so that the wall was the correct way around. I more recent versions, however, Chief will automatically reverse the wall direction to ensure (in most cases) that the wall is not "inside out".
  2. In plan view, select the stair on the right with the problem. Drag it's lower edge up away from the wall - the stair should fix itself. Drag the stairs lower edge back to the wall.
  3. Strange that you have new credit card numbers, but the same credit card account. This can also happen when the expiry date is reached. Same credit card account and same account numbers - just new expiry date.
  4. Send the apprentice down to the building supplier and tell him to get a #4 size skyhook.
  5. You can use Suppress Adjacent Room Moldings to cut the baseboard. I think this was new to X13.
  6. Trim the plan down so that it only has the basics like walls floors and roofs. Or zip it up.
  7. OK, I think I follow you. Your main roof on the left is made up of 2 roof planes, the lower roof plane having a concave curve into the gutter. You want the roof plane on the right of the main roof planes to intersect with the main roof planes (including the curved one). As Eric says, it would be a lot easier if you post the plan.
  8. Just a tip to keep track of the screen redraw time to save counting the seconds. Preferences>Appearance>Status Bar>Show Screen Redraw Time.
  9. Chief sort of has particles. I did this one quickly with spheres (big ones) and Distribution Path, make symbol, copy, rotate...... But, it is very slow to redraw, although you could only use it at the end.
  10. That could be caused by a multitude of reasons. You will have to post a plan.
  11. Use invisible walls and check Winders for the stairs.
  12. Do you see an Off Angle Wall icon attached to the cursor? What happens if you click on the yellow triangle? Looks like it is an Off Angle Wall under the counter top?
  13. From the look of the dbx you posted, you can only reference another floor in your plan. You can't reference another plan file.
  14. I don't fully understand. Why do you need to apply a splashback? Why not just apply a material to the soffit or solid. If you want the material to run in different directions, explode the object into faces, create a new material that runs in the other direction and apply it to the exploded face.
  15. That image you show of the Change Floor/Reference dbx is not from X13. This is the dbx in X13 - and for at least the last several versions.
  16. Steve, I mentioned that way back near the beginning https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/32658-spiral-staircase-with-solid-rail-wall/?do=findComment&comment=256306
  17. More like this? Or....there is a way of creating a custom shaped wall opening (not a door). Have a look in the help file for Edit Wall Cutout Polyline. You can attach a custom shaped Wall Cutout Polyline to a symbol (by using Inserts Into Wall) and then hide the symbol so that it is not visible. Here is a very quick freehand hole in wall attached to an espresso machine.
  18. Yusuf, You just beat me to it. I had it figured out by using the top rail to build the wall and using the top rail height to drop the bottom of the solid rail down below the stair itself - the top of the solid rail remains at the set height.
  19. Something very strange happening. If I draw the stairs counterclockwise, things aren't too bad and the ends of the treads are curved. BUT, if I draw the stairs clockwise, the inner face of the wall becomes segmented. Looks like a bug to me.
  20. Can you post a cut down plan and i will have a look. That error message about the extents would suggest that you have an object floating out in space somewhere.
