  1. If that is buried in the wall than why model it? Take care of it in the MEP plan or dashed CAD lines in an elevation view. Having said that. Do you have a duct chase designed yet in the wall. You cannot go horizontal across all those vertical framing members...load bearing or not. You can create the duct with a 3D molding polyline, but again, only if you already have an adequate chase. Also. What type of fireplace insert are you using? What is the combustion source? Can you vent it horizontally by code or manufactures specs? If you can, what is the maximum horizontal run you can vent that particular unit?
  2. To add.... I went back to working on the plan and closed the layout. Now one callout shows the page number and the other doesn't...
  3. Before I report this I want to see if anyone else has noticed. This is not a huge issue, but when I put text in, I need to know the size of my callouts, anyway... I am completing a plan set for a small remodel (though I have noticed it on all my plans) and I have a couple interior elevation callouts. When the layout isn't open, the call outs don't show the page number. When the layout is open, the page numbers come back on. Again, not a huge issue, unless I put text in that needs to be moved later, but it does seem to be a bug. @Dermot report as bug? Has it been reported?
  4. Stop creating a new schedule. Fix the schedule you have once you delete the duplicate. That is why you are getting duplicate numbers in the label, or...you are having cabinets reporting in a different schedule.
  5. Don't try to get a doorway in there, create one. Either break the roof plane and pull the bottom section up to create the opening, or cut a hole in the roof plane.
  6. No need to change anything other than select the "room" in the foundation that needs to be a basement and open the dbx. Select to add a floor below the room and set the stemwall height, done.
  7. You need to give that "attic" room a name and floor platform to get a rim joist.
  8. Won't put a rim at the ceiling line where wall framing exists.
  9. I'm 100%confused. Chief allows you to set the R.O. and frame size, and whatever size window you want. What am I missing?
  10. Looks like you have drawings. Import them onto a layout sheet.
  11. Open the callout and make sure you have the correct text size specified.
  12. Move the roof planes you want shown to the proper floor.
  13. Sounds like you need to scale your text better. You should be able to get a ton of information on an elevation and still fit 2 elevations per 24x36 page.
  14. You can also select the chair and open the dbx and tell it to go below the table....think base cabinet....
  15. Nope. I do my own post/beam porches most of the time. But I do create the posts with the soffit tool, maybe that's why.
  16. Yep, did not have to open the symbol, just drug it over there.
  17. @Alaskan_Son beat me. Last time I did it I did not have to open the symbol though. I will try again.
  18. I think it needs to be initially placed on a wall. Place it on an exterior wall, the drag it to the post.
  19. No need to cut a hole, just break the edge of the roof in a couple places and pull it back.
