Wall fgill colors not showing its all black and white
joey_martin replied to LeRoyWells's topic in General Q & A
Turn the color on. -
When using the reverse plan tool pay attention to your elevations as well. It will flip the cameras. I prefer to use EDIT>EDIT AREA>ALL FLOORS and flip it along the center of the plan. Keeps the elevations intact.

I bet he is using the floor overview camera and it's set to floor 2.

Best way to show Huberwood Zip System and Advantech Subfloor
joey_martin replied to cbucks's topic in General Q & A
Build your wall layers exactly like the product. Don't over think it. NOTE: The 1/16" layer I use just as the ZIP outer layer showing the material, and it gives me the 1/2" sheeting layer. -
Pretty quick and easy to do with poilysolids while in elevation view.

I have carried forward my template for many versions. I spend a morning every version updating to make sure I am taking advantage of new features, but I honestly can't tell you how many versions my template has come forward.

Just a pony wall below. All the brick should line up all the way down. EDIT: re-read...you will need a pony wall on the first floor as well for the wainscot of brick.

You sure he doesn't just need something like this?

Porch shows house footer extending outside of the house
joey_martin replied to LeRoyWells's topic in General Q & A
You move on and see if it corrects itself. At the very least, when you complete your final cleanup you simply pull that little section back. -
At first, quick glance, I would have used a wall cabinet and placed it on the the WALLS, NORMAL layer. I may also try to cut and manipulate the wall itself, but not sure if that works well with a side cut.

As Ryan says, the problem is with the room above, you're looking in the wrong place to fix the problem.

No, no....signature first!! Just kidding. I admittedly haven't used Canvas to import anything so my first question is, when you bring it in is it like bringing a CAD file in? In other words, does it give you the option to map the layers coming in during the import process?

Did you set the separation to 0 so that the units bump directly against one another?

Casement window hinge / opening direction indication in plan view
joey_martin replied to JoeinNorCal's topic in General Q & A
As Ryan says you can use doors, but honestly it's just as easy to create a CAD block and put it on there if needed. I have created CAD blocks for my refrigerators and tall linen cabinets that I like to use, same can be done for casement windows..- 6 replies

Click just outside the exterior wall to bring up the exterior "room" and hit the MAKE POLYLINE tool to get the info.

The 10/2 rule is for chimneys at the roof line, not vents in the wall.
