Anyone else go back to not using “saved plan views” anymore?
tommy1 replied to Michael_Gia's topic in General Q & A
I normally use anno sets. Once in a while I use saved plan views but don't need them very often. -
looking to purchase earlier version of CA

Watch out for those hack versions. I had a man call me last year for help. After finding that his program wasn't working right, he told me that he bought X10 for $40.00 online. His problem was that he didn't have any program updates and absolutely no textures so he was getting errors popping up continuously. Never heard from him again. -
Watch out for face counts of custom furniture you download.

They're very helpful when doing roofs manually. Louis Fernandez used to call it a laser tool for roofs.

Merry Christmas David and everyone. Going to work for a couple of hours on a plan today but take time off this afternoon for a bike ride. Should be a great day today...70s!

Give me a call. I will show you how I approach this. I have time this afternoon. My way is very easy. 832-754-6160.

Eric, what you did to that dormer is what I did to the other dormer. Didn't have time to fix the dormer you worked on.

BTW, ceiling breaks are not selectable, however, you can turn them on and off in the layer display.
-
If you're referring to the dotted lines inside your red circle, they look like ceiling break lines (some of them are ceiling break lines). These ceiling breaks are generated when the roof planes are put in. If you change your ceiling height in that area, you'll see those ceiling break lines move too. If you do a section view, you'll be able to see what's going on there.

It's that way in all versions.

Looks pretty cool

Make your own using solids, corbels and a molding poly line.

Why not just use the wall hatch tool to show new and existing?

What's the best way to get help? Personal trainer?

Dillon, if you're using a Premier version, email me a list of your questions. Maybe I could help you decide if you want to keep it or not. Very good program though. I would need to know what version you're using. My email is below or you could call my cell 832-754-6160. -

Converting Note Schedule and Notes to Library Object
tommy1 replied to wjmdes's topic in General Q & A
BTW, an option would be to do a "cad detail from view". Then you could make it easier to work with in the cad detail>block it and save it it to your library. Just tried it and it works. -

You're using a "note schedule" which I'm assuming is why you can't block it and save it. I don't use the note schedule. I do mine only using text and polylines. This way you can block it and save it. -

Yes. I have notes and legends and details with boxes around them and have them saved to the library for future use. you can always unblock them when bringing them in to your plan or cad detail for editing. I do this in almost every plan. -

Why not shift select>block> add to library? A separate plan would be fine too. -
I've been using the program since V8 (base) and was never able to do this. Yes, at one time, there was a version 8 base. Didn't take long to upgrade to full version once I learned the limitations.

Well put. I've been saying that for years.
-
Where have I seen a reply like this before?
-
Not a good answer but keep it with open risers and manually place risers with solids or something. Now you'll probably get the look you're looing for.
-
I find this sometimes to be true also. Diane, I'm sure you'll get it done one way or another. As we have been saying for years, there's generally more than one way to do things in Chief. Just do what works best for you.
