You just need to send a note to @Dan_Park. He has fixed it before but no idea how it gets broken in the first place.
-
It is not so bad Rob you can just turn the smoothing angle way up before using the delete surfaces tool. Not sure Michael covered that in the video I posted.
-
Yes Michael did a great video of that a while back. It can also be done in Sketchup.

Little gap between porch and concrete stairs
Chopsaw replied to hieuthuanho's topic in General Q & A
Can't say for sure what is the best way as it may have more to do with the wall definition than the wall type. In your situation it seems to have been the 1/2" exterior drywall layer that was causing the 1/2" offset in your stair location. -
Yes you can block the Schedule and add that to the library but then you need to add the notes to the same library folder separately. If you don't have any custom formatting to the schedule you can just save the notes and use the "Create Note Schedule from Note(s)" option on the active toollbar.

Can The 'Backdrop' Be Set To Move With The Camera View?
Chopsaw replied to HumbleChief's topic in General Q & A
Use a Panoramic Backdrop or place something in the actual plan and use it as your backdrop. That way you won't get so dizzy. -
Does it allow for extra studs to screw all those little drywall strips to ?

Little gap between porch and concrete stairs
Chopsaw replied to hieuthuanho's topic in General Q & A
There seems to be a bit of an issue with the wall type you used for the porches. I switched it to a railing wall and then use the point to point tool to move the stairs into position but then had to switch the walls back for the covered porch.. Also set the covered porch room to " Use Soffit Surface for Ceiling " Cleaned up your roof planes in the corner and built a cricket to shed the water. 1506696359_project1-rev6-gableroof Chopped.plan -
I thought so as well at first but I think Eric is correct and it is just an illusion created by the slight return of the fascia in the overhang.
-
Model it as a normal roof and then extend the roof planes down manually or use the wall DBX to increase the overhangs. When you frame extend the valley beams to a manually drawn footing mount. Post back with the plan file if you have issues. You may even be able to get the original drawings if they built a bunch the same.

Yes it is all or nothing with cad line labels..... You could as you say palace a patch over the radius or turn it off and add the the length with text or if you want to keep it live you could replace your cad line with a room divider set to "No Room Definition" with a custom label macro.
-
You can always post your plan file and have one of the experts take a look. There is a bug with the software when you convert to text but it is not clear exactly what you are showing. It could be something quite simple or you may have run into an issue with the software.
-
Is that a live schedule or did you convert to text to add the Comments column ? Or maybe the custom ceiling finish details ?
-
Thank you. I tried that could not proceed. Hence i was trying what Eric has drawn. That's exactly what I am interested in. But I don't know how to achieve that. That's why it took me a while to respond back. I believe Eric did a simplified version of exactly that as a demonstration. Did you take a look at the tutorial ? Where did you get stuck ? You can only go about this far with the automatic tools : No such thing as a middle rail option using an automatic panel, at least not yet... We have been hoping for a while now. Modeling your own panels allows you to include details like the assembly bolts if you like and that custom drop panel in the center.

Slow Performance and poor responsiveness in X12

You may want to post the plan file so someone with the same computer specifications could try it out to compare. It could be something as simple as some high poly count drawer pulls or a light fixture from sketchup. -
I think that particular setup would be best illustrated by building it as a panel railing system. Build a panel in as much detail as you like in 3D to scale and convert to a millwork symbol. You can also do the same for the newel post that can even include the mounting bracket and concrete footing if you like. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-02893/creating-custom-balusters-and-railing-panels.html Let us know how it works out.

I think I have a solution for you. It is a bit of a work around but may not be so bad once set up in your template. If you use camera labels elsewhere in your layout you may just want to replace that part with regular text either in plan view or layout and then match your text style with the new Camera, Details layer.
-
It can be selected and moved or deleted so it does not effect your camera setup.

Yes the garage and stairwell will need to be balloon framed. So leave that as it is and then you may need to do something different for the stair landing. The point is that the framing is controlled by that wall and will need to be re-framed from the wall below to frame for the new window. However it seems that for that wall to recognize the window it will need to be placed in the level 1 wall. Likely the easiest way to do that is in 3D from Level 2 set the window to an absolute elevation and then CTRL + X it, then move to Level 1 and CTRL + ALT + V it back into place. You have auto frame turned on so that should fix it.
-
You seem to have it balloon framed from the wall below. P.S. You have a lost Iron Cross out at X 5778" and Y 18773" on level 2 that is messing up your cameras.
-
Check the Wall DBX under the Structure Tab and see if "Retain Wall Framing" is selected.
-
If you are talking about your template plan then you would need to re-save the file as your new template. Unless you are referring to a file that already has roof planes... That would be a longer story.

Oculus Rift S "No Virtual Reality Headset Connected"
Chopsaw replied to BryceEngstrom's topic in General Q & A
Maybe bump this one and see if you get a response from Shawn. -
Sorry I am having difficulty identifying the additional lines. I can see two lines on the bottom and right perimeter that are missing.... possibly due to sending to layout as "Current Screen" or a layout box cropping issue. Maybe you could point out some of the extra lines or hopefully someone else can see it.

Material regions will also cut the existing finish so you can limit the use of the material regions and keep them to a minimum.
