  1. Yes it will. You could do it just like that and manually add the supports or even do it automatically as a panel railing wall.
  2. Do you want to list the shutter type or size etc for the ones that have the shutters ? You could just put that info in the comments column for all the windows.
  3. Where did you see that ? There is a copy link tool in the upper right corner of every post or just use the link from your browser. It just shows up like Eric's screen shot for me.
  4. Is there a lot of green in the terrain or the background you are using ? Usually an outdoor PBR is not too much trouble.
  5. You may need to post the plan file as it could be an issue with the furniture and not the software. Check it in the same type display view that it is visible in 3D maybe.
  6. No trick. Just figure out what layer it is on in the view where it is visible and then make sure that layer is turned on in your elevation view.
  7. I was not suggesting to change the room type Gene. There may be some other issues that result from my suggested method but floor tiles are not one of them !
  8. Hi Mike, The software is not quite that user friendly such that you can just redefine a specific room type. However there are preset room functions and you can assign them to a room type. So redefine your Laundry and Garage to be a Bath room function and you are all set.
  9. Did you frame and then install the windows ? If so you need to re-frame. Unless you have "Automatically Build Wall Framing" turned on ?
  10. Pretty sure that that particular layer is locked by default. It can be manually unlocked but it is really strange that all that stuff ended up there as nothing else would logically end up there by default.
  11. Not quite sure how it happened but you have a bunch of the items on the Roofs, Gutters layer which is locked and one other item on the Wall Niches layer. Also a random ceiling beam out at X 260" Y 282".... That does not seem bad but your build is no where near 0,0 which is a good thing to check when starting a plan file.
  12. Likely something was scrambled at just the worst time. It should be controllable with layer settings if they are not locked. Post the file and someone will likely provide the fix in no time and then you can rush the updates to your engineer. You may have accidentally clicked the Modify All Layer Sets checkbox.
  13. I think this tip still applies Mark.
  14. Have you taken a look at any of these ? https://www.chiefarchitect.com/products/samples.html
  15. You can always record a video of the situation and post the plan file. Someone with the same or similar computer specifications can run the plan file and see if it is a hardware issue or look to see what may be causing the issue in the plan file. Also please post your computer specifications and the version of chief you are using in your signature so that it is always there as a reference.
  16. Hi Rob, Welcome to ChiefTalk. Elevation cameras have the option to "Back Clip" the view and then you set the distance in the DBX (Dialogue Box) or drag out the edit handle in Plan View. Depending on what version you have you may also be able to "break" the cross section line and put a jog into it to adjust the view that displays. Your Current Elevation:
  17. Give it a try. Reducing the width compresses the image and then allows a tighter row height. It is the only way it works since there is really no height control other than font size. You can go as tight as you want but then the column titles become the issue if you don't shorten the image title. It usually needs to have a little size to be legible though.
  18. The other trick is to shorten the Column Title so that you can compress the column width.
  19. Must be a "Canadian" term. Purlins was the word that was new for me.
  20. Mick do you remember what version that was drawn in ? There was a bug like that at one point in X9 or X10 maybe.
  21. Yup that is what I figured it was supposed to do when they brought out that new feature. Not So. Sorry. You need to send them all separately.
  22. Importing Saved Plan Views To copy saved plan views from one plan file and import them into the current plan, select File> Import> Import Saved Plan Views. Most attributes of a saved plan view are, potentially, imported. The Active Defaults, Layer Sets including Reference Display Sets, and the Current CAD Layer will all be imported provided that items of the same name do not already exist in the destination plan. If items of the same name do exist, they will be assigned to the imported saved plan view instead. Two attributes are not imported: the Zoom/Rotation of the original view, and the Default Set. Even when the Active Defaults are imported into the destination plan, the imported saved plan view will be set to “Using Active Defaults.” Default Sets can be imported separately if you wish. See Exporting and Importing Default Sets. To import saved plan views 1. Open the plan that you would like to import saved plan views into. 2. Select File> Import> Import Saved Plan Views . 3. In the Open Plan File dialog, browse to and select the plan file that you would like to import views from and click OK. See Importing Files. 4. In the Import Saved Plan Views dialog: • Check the box beside all defaults that you would like to import. • If the list of views is sufficiently long, a scroll bar will display on the right side of the list. • Multiple line items can be selected by Shift+ or Ctrl+clicking their names. Then check or uncheck the box beside any selected item to affect the entire selection set. See Shift and Ctrl Select. • Click the Select All button to place checks in the boxes beside all views in the list, or click Clear All to clear all of the check boxes. • Select how to handle Existing Saved Plan Views in the current plan with the same name as those being imported. When Replace is chosen, the attributes of the saved plan view will be replaced, but not those of its Active Defaults, Layer Sets or Current CAD Layer. • Click OK to close the dialog and import the selected saved plan views.
