  1. Would better lighting help ? There is even a fairly good image if you wanted to just do a "painted" door rather than modeling every detail. https://dsadoors.com/standard/briarcliff/briarcliff/
  2. Digital Locker: Downloads, Product Keys & License Management
  3. You may need to wait for the release of X13 for the callout tails but for now you can draw them with cad or import from AutoCad and then keep them blocked in your library or template plan. See Plan Defaults for the 2D framing display : Line style and weight/colour can be controlled by layer.
  4. Pretty sure it just depends on what type of camera you use and what floor you set it up on. You can rename the camera if that helps keep things organized for you. If you need to control the Floor Level you will need to use a Full Camera or Floor Overview.
  5. You just need to be sure to select the correct segment. However I was just thinking that it may be better to use one or more of the vertical dimension strings to designate the in between measurements and let the absolute measurements stay with the callouts.
  6. End wall trusses are a bit tricky. It might be best to post the plan file and have one of the experts take a look. It could just be a incorrectly positioned ceiling plane or something. I don't think chief will ever frame a truss for a window automatically though.
  7. There may be a way to do that but it would likely involve multiple plan files. I think I would just suppress the dimension value for those particular segments and then use the Leading Text field to enter your adjusted measurement value. Or possibly not suppress the actual elevation value and add in your current floor measurement as Leading or Trailing Text.
  8. It is not totally out of the question. My supplier can deliver a 77' truss without special permits. They can build and deliver longer ones but it costs more.... Did not ask what the maximum is but it is also dependent on access to the job site. Definitely a good question for your local truss supplier though.
  9. I am not sure how it would make a difference on a larger truss but check your Top and Bottom Chord Spans.
  10. You have a duplicate note schedule somewhere.
  11. You could place a very thin shadow board that will cause the shingles to overhang.
  12. They don't position very well due to the skew angle and the pitch of the roof. Many times I have tried modifying a rafter for a different roof element and it will just drop down to a 0 pitch; it just seems to loose it's bearing in 3D space (or maybe I loose my bearing in 3D space). I think it is Chief that looses it's bearings...... I did a video on this a while back. Should I search ?
  13. Sounds like you need to be sure this is turned off:
  14. Sorry nothing that is just a checkbox. I have thought about adding them to the newel post but then the corner and end transitions become a problem.
  15. It is done using the offset settings of the symbol. You can edit it in the library and then just keep reapplying it until it is correct. If you are having issues post a plan file and I will see if I can do a demo for you.
  16. For each individual room or the "Living Area" total ?
  17. Did anyone else record? Sure hope so. Sorry I have recorded some in the past but not this one.
  18. I wonder if possibly you have changed the lighting or rendering technique. Could also be monitor issue.
  19. There was actually a dedicated tool introduced with X11 called "Rope Light" with the electrical tools. Have you tried that ?
  20. Rob could you post or PM a control test file with a saved camera. What resolution are you hoping to achieve and what is your current screen resolution and recording box pixel size ? I would like to see what OBS can do or maybe even play with the codec settings to see what can be done within the software and we can compare results. Pretty sure there is a better way than using your phone.
  21. Yes it takes a bit of work to set up a good walkthrough path but the nice thing about it is you can usually use the same or a slightly revised path to show updates and progression. I did not realize that the Record Walkthrough feature did not have the same resolution setting that Record Walkthrough Along Path does. A bit or a shame really. Have you explored codec settings as a possibility ? So Flashback Express does not have resolution settings for the recorded area ? I have been using OBS for a while now and it may be a better solution although I have not tested thoroughly enough to know how effective the higher resolution settings are but it is set up as a bit more of a professional use software. I would definitely agree with that and in light of Dermot's recently revealed product development schedule I would not keep your fingers crossed for too long waiting. However with a lot of work was able to get a walkthrough path recording that was almost 4K using my 1080 monitors, before chief released the most recent updates so I guess it just depends on what gets to the top of the list.
  22. Interesting concept Rob. You can dump a lot of things such as your Scroollbars and Statusbar or even your Toolbars if you have the hot keys you need to be able to do without them. Also anything else you have docked can go away but full screen is a bit illusive. I have been able to achieve it by stretching my screen to other adjoining monitors but not everyone has that luxury. Maybe you need a recording app that has resolution settings ?
  23. Not sure that the properties can be applied but there should not be and issue with opening the DBX (Dialogue Box) to the label tab and editing that to what you need it to be. P.S. for future reference, ALL CAPS are generally not welcomed on this forum.
  24. Select one layout box and then use your Match Properties tool to choose the Layout Box Borders layer and it will select all of the layout boxes so that you can have all the labels the same.
