Blocking should work ok to run across the roof if you use the rafters to run up and down. They kinda work together that way.
-
I was not really concerned with what it is called or how it is defined, just a 3D object that can be edited on any face in any view rather than a single extruded face.
-
The formatting is almost impossible to work with.

Kyle, I am still trying to figure this out but have just discovered that the reason I have been struggling with this for so long is because I seem to have "Use Layout Line Scaling" turned off by default in my Send to Layout popup DBX. I wonder if there is a plan view setting for that ? It would seem that there is one some where based on what Dermot has just said.

Maybe some future version they will just surprise us with a polyline solid that is truly 3D.
-
Definitely not something you want to do unintentionally but it is called "Solid Feature" tool.
-
Just draw another p-solid in the same view over top and open it up and check the Hole in Polyline Solid box.

I think the question here is how do you print a 1/16" dashed line style as it does not display or print as 1/16" regardless of how you use line weights or print preview. Mine measure at 1 1/2" + end caps for some reason. Is there a way to scale the line styles or should there be ?

Sorry I meant to show you how to round off the decimal ft values. This should have been the first example.

Hi Gene, If I am understanding what you are after. The radius for the hip rafter of the two 108" R. curved roof planes is 207 11/16" R. Not sure if there is a mathematical way to confirm that one but I just used the tools I know in Chief.

If it does not appear when you click on the double arrow symbol then go to Tools > Toolbars and Hotkeys > Customize Toolbars. When that is open you can reorganize your toolbars or add any additional tools that you like, just select and drag into location.

It could be hidden right where I circled. Likely that would show if you expanded to full screen.
-
The icons are similar but not the same Layer Display Options. Active Layer Display Options. It may be on you tool bar but collapsed. Default position is beside Preferences and Library and Project Browser.
-
Sounds like you were using ALDO ( Active Layer Display Options ) before and had it docked at the side of your screen ? Look for this icon on your toolbar

Camera for first illustration is likely beyond the edge of the terrain while the second one is cutting through it.

Take a look under the Newels/Balusters tab at the top of the page.

It is done using the "Custom Object Fields" for the Railing Wall. You need to go to the "Object Information" tab of the wall DBX ( Dialogue Box) and "Create New Field". Most shown are straight up Chief "Object Specific" macro values but some need a little adjustment depending on how you would like the values displayed. I will post a few examples below. to display in decimal ft. to display in inches. straight use of macro value. Then add those new columns to your wall schedule. Let me know if that makes sense and works for you.

Anyway to not show exterior wall niche in Plan View?
Chopsaw replied to Christina_Girerd's topic in General Q & A
4th floor should work fine. Just remember to set your Wall Niche to an "Absolute" Elevation Reference first. -
You could also tweak a Wall Schedule to show that information.

Anyway to not show exterior wall niche in Plan View?
Chopsaw replied to Christina_Girerd's topic in General Q & A
Is the Parapet Wall an attic wall or level 4 ? Copy and paste them to that level maybe assuming they work the same as windows. Otherwise cad patch I suppose. -
Don't play with the file too much with out making a copy of the original first.
-
It seems you are using rafter blocking where you need a rafter and it is causing a confusing interaction. If that is not it you may want to post the plan file.
-
Is there really no default for the center mark size. Not really sure I need a 5" center marker for a 3/8" hole. Or maybe a setting for a percentage of the diameter ?

How do I bring a molding profile into a CAD detail?
Chopsaw replied to GeneDavis's topic in General Q & A
It depends on the molding profile and who created it. Sometimes they fly off to never never land when inserted. Oh just in case. From Library> right click and "Place Molding Profile"
