You are quite welcome. It may have been just an internet overload glitch. Things have been pretty maxed out recently. Nice to have friends on the other side.

Yup. Just depends on how accurately you need to be. You could even offset the material by 8" on every other row and make sure the millwork symbol is the same length as your space between newels setting so that it does not compress the material. You could even do individual blocks if necessary to show a stepped top level or at least individual rows like your symbol mock-up. Nice work Mick !

Could this work ? Simple polyline solid drawn in elevation view.

Go to your Chief Architect digital locker. There will be a copy there.

That will not work unless the overhangs are equal on each side of the garage. Lengthen the back or shorten the front and it may help with the other problem of the wall heights not being equal.

Is there a way to see the Floor Area of a room in Chief Architect?
Chopsaw replied to RonChief's topic in General Q & A
Likely the simplest way is to use the room label. Make sure it is "Shown" in the General tab of the Room DBX and then in ALDO ( Active Layer Display Options) select the room and it will display the associated layers.... Turn on " Rooms, Interior Area" or "Rooms, Standard Area". A Room Finish Schedule is also a good option. -
No Chief has completely missed the mark on this one for cad lines as well as walls as far as I know. The only option that even comes close is the cad label for length will display a radius value for and arc but unfortunately it is very limited in it's ability to be adjusted so would be very difficult to use in the illustrated situation in fact in most situations. Best option for now is a manual label. There is a lot of great information available in Object DBX's but it is difficult for the average client to access that. It would be great if chief would at least allow that information to be accessed through object properties.

I want to ask about how to copy and paste other properties
Chopsaw replied to RonChief's topic in General Q & A
Not sure if it works the same as Autocad but yes there is a Match Properties tool and then once you have activated it the Apply Properties tool will show up on the active toolbar. Switching layers is a separate function done in the objects DBX (dialogue box) -
Is that the "Eames DSW White Side Chair" by Ruben Theys ? The 2019 model seems to be compatible with X12. What software are you using?
-
Yes of course we can. Sometimes you get what you ask for. Just use the layout box triangle to rotate and crop just like any other polyline.

You are quite welcome Brian.

I was thinking the same. Pretty sure Chief embeds fonts by default while I think it is an option in Acrobat.
-
You have 2 Door Schedules. 1 on level one and 1 on level two. If you want it to be that way make each schedule specific to it's floor level otherwise delete one of them. The other option is the convert one of the schedules to Text once you are sure there will be no more revisions.

That is a setting in Preferences > General > Startup Options. The other is likely a video driver or check your Video Card Status in Preferences and make sure Chief is using your dedicated card.

It may be a bug or just a funky setting. It seems the stair railing is reading a lowered railing height for the landing and it is making an incorrect transition. Regardless of the situation the balusters should not poke through the railing.

Created Railing Symbol Continuous beyond Newels
Chopsaw replied to myrtsbnye's topic in General Q & A
Ok if you use the bounding box and stretch plane of the millwork symbol you can make it work in camera view. Unfortunately chief still has lots of work to do so that these types of thing work in vector view and plan view. Railing Test Panel.calibz -

Yup. Maybe some day we will have some more railing specific railing tools. -
Created Railing Symbol Continuous beyond Newels
Chopsaw replied to myrtsbnye's topic in General Q & A
It may be possible if you include the rails and newels with the railing panel symbol although the outside corners may still be an issue. What version are you using ? -
two in the same wall ?
-
Rob I think this may be your issue. 2. In any view, group-select multiple windows and doors on the same wall that are within 24” of each other.
-
That is a great question. Not sure if Chief thinks they are top secret or if they just figure they are too boring to publish but it would be a great starting point for someone learning ruby as it is written in chief's special version.
-
Sounds like you have turned on a reference layer. Can you select the lines ? It would be good to know what software you are using and the version. You can include that information in your signature so it is always there when you post. Welcome to the Forum.

Yes but you will need to make some adjustments for your border and title block on Page 0 unless you have that in another template and can import it.
