  1. Sure you can save section and elevation cameras in your template plan if you like and you can even keep the layout link if you really want to save time. Works great if you do a lot of back to back projects that as somewhat similar.
  2. Check your railing wall connections and properties for room definition. If that is not it you may need to post the plan file. Hard to diagnose from the screenshot. Potentially you may need to connect the outer railing wall to the exterior wall of the "tower" with an invisible room divider but no guarantees.
  3. I was wondering about that concept myself.
  4. Yes it makes sense but for some reason it does not make sense to chief or they would fix the problem that plagues the process.
  5. If you experiment with changing the "Smoothing Angle" of the symbol it can allow you to more efficiently delete surfaces to create a modified symbol. If you want to do something like move an embedded shower head then you need to delete every single surface with the exception of the shower head and create an independent symbol from it so it can be positioned any where you like. Apparently if you have the time to learn another program, Sketchup has some more efficient tools for editing their symbols.
  6. Is that on every page in the same position by any chance ? If so there is likely something causing that on page 0 of your layout. Otherwise you may need to let us know what version you are using and post the plan and layout files.
  7. Try just sending this much to layout. I think even the fence is too much for Chief to handle properly with the current problem. It is not just the terrain that causes the issue it is strictly the width of the plan in cross section.
  8. You might want to provide a screen shot comparison so that others can respond or at least let us know what rendering technique you are using and where you are observing the blur. There are known issues but your observations are important.
  9. Not that it will help you out this time but I have had printing issues before that ended up crashing the program. Since I had a few serious losses doing that I got into the habit of always doing a manual save before printing. Convenient that those tools sit side by side. There has to be a significant amount of data in the undo file but don't believe there is any way to recover it. Sorry.
  10. There are soo many possible configurations that what they supply is the hardware that you can use with standard glass walls and doors. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/3d-library/index.php?r=site/detail/953
  11. Ok so place it in elevation view on the Attic level as Michael has pointed out or if you do not want to see it anywhere in plan view put it on it's own layer and turn it off.
  12. Hummm.... What layer is it on ??
  13. Sounds like you did everything correctly. You might want to try it again or post the plan file. There must be some sort of hidden data.
  14. You should be noticing some " Ceiling Break Lines " in plan view when you have a condition such as that if the layer is turned on. Unfortunately the only solution is to raise the roof or reduce the thickness of the roof structure. If that does not make sense you may need to post the plan file for someone to help you out with it.
  15. So something like this with a scissor truss ? Completely possible. Maybe post your plan file or your room settings and someone will be able to help.
  16. Can you post a screen shot ?
  17. I would love to hear a better answer but I think you might be right. Very difficult to illustrate a lot that is not at least partially prepped for the build.
  18. Is that a tree I can see in the window on the bottom right 3rd story window ? Perhaps it does not remove the trees at all ?
  19. If you don't mind seeing hollow walls the Cross Section Slider is the tool to use.
  20. You can give the Purge tool a try but I suspect the majority of those materials are assigned as defaults.
  21. Ok so just to confirm when you do that the import DBX does not even open and the program freezes with no error message ? If so I would suspect your installation has become corrupted or you have a hardware issue of some sort and you should contact tech support.
  22. Ok that could definitely make a huge difference.
  23. I would have suggested that as the most obvious variable but he is not even getting the DBX to open ?
  24. Same way as before but it still only moves the rail and not the newels. You likely want to widen the width of the wall or add an invisible layer to the outside.
  25. Not really even sure where to start on troubleshooting an issue like that. You may need to contact tech support in the morning. I don't see how it could be a hardware issue unless your mouse is fried but that would cause other issues as well I am sure. Did you confirm v.23.3.0.81 It shows in the Startup Options.. Bottom Right.
