  1. No I think that is still a feature request at this point. I think the solution is to place the newels manually and use the auto posts.
  2. True but we are not quite there yet. You can link a spread sheet but is still quite awkward and not quite live. You might be surprised how much can be done with macros. If you have something that you do all the time it is worth automating it to reduce the chances of human error and speed up production but it can be a bit of an initial investment if it is something complex.
  3. It would be good if you could confirm what version and what update you are referring to. X13 v.23.3.0.81 seems to work fine running on windows 10.....
  4. While you are waiting for a response from tech support or a better answer here have a look through this article: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00106/troubleshooting-3d-camera-view-display-problems-in-chief-architect.html
  5. Got it ! If any of you are interested in having all that in one schedule that sorts and tallies itself I could likely set it up for you on the weekend.
  6. I am just not sure what you are calculating or how you are calculating it. It sort of sounds like you are just creating two lists of rooms using note schedules, but I am a little confused as to the value of that ? It seems if that is what you are doing if would be more beneficial to just include conditioned or unconditioned in the room label. I envisioned that OP wanting a schedule that listed all the room names and gave an area for conditioned or unconditioned and then tallied them.
  7. How are you doing that without access to the conditioned space information ? Pretty sure Rob's method would work but we should not be forced to dip that low. And chief will have difficulty totaling material names.
  8. If they give us an OIP panel for rooms in X14 you will be able to do it with a regular room schedule and I don't have the answer for that yet. Otherwise you will need to learn some rather complex ruby programming knowledge or hire someone that does. If you need it today look up the info and create a text box schedule.
  9. That is what you have specified as subfloor sheathing for the rooms above. What you need is some framing to hold it up and then you can attach the basement ceiling to that.
  10. marquis select perhaps ? Lock anything else that might be nearby....
  11. So basically you want to cut a great big gaping hole in your roof and then add additional load to the compromised structure ? I think this is a situation where you will want to get the advice of a competent builder before you start drawing. If you are able to provide the necessary details of the existing structure and what you hope to build on top there are people here that can give you advice. Even an over frame is a complex process but what you are proposing is another level above that. Not that it can't be done but it can get quite complicated very quickly depending on the exact circumstances and local building codes.
  12. The reset should work but you could try plugging in that third monitor again and just make sure to move things back to your main monitor before shutting down.
  13. Yup. Self serve in my area, so no waiting around.
  14. Here is the previous discussion on the topic even though there were no detailed solutions presented.
  15. Start with this setting: So you don't get a birdsmouth. But then you will have quite a bit of manual building and editing to do at an "expert level". You will not find a setting for the metal webs.... At least in X13 anyway. Most likely that will need to be done with a symbol or molding.
  16. I think it was Joe that originally posted this method. referenced ? obj = referenced : obj = owner obj.layer Does that do what you are after set to "None" and "Evaluate" ?
  17. Sorry but this is not as true as you would like it to be. That statement is more suitable to office printers.
  18. Did you read the information that was provided to you ? Those walls are there for a reason.
  19. If you wanted to go that route. Headers have their own labels and know their length so it might make more sense to look at that option.
  20. You could fairly easily include that with your window label as that info is entered and stored with the window but possibly the framers would not look at that in the right sequence. Do you show wall details or studs and headers in plan views ?
  21. Yes it is completely possible. Great option for preliminary concept plans. You just need to create or modify an existing border and title block to suit with standard cad tools.
  22. It would likely be easier to use a molding or even an offset room molding if the structure is a single room. However there is something else that I can't really explain the logic of. You can create a pony wall that is the same as the main wall but slightly shorter and then apply your wall cap and use the offsets to position it and it seems to work.
  23. It is only available in a 3D view. So 3D > Camera View Options > Cross Section Slider...
