Garage floor shows under door on exterior.
Chopsaw replied to Larry_Sweeney's topic in General Q & A
This might be the original but was likely discussed at some point prior as well. -
Let me know if this works for you:
-
You might want to post your Multiple Display setting in Windows if I can assume so ? It may also be helpful for you to post which update of X13 you loaded and what version of windows you are running. I have mine set to "Extend these displays" and never seem to have that sort of issue if that helps.
-
No not quite like you. Pretty sure most people pass right on by that one because of the way it is set up. If the setting was reversed and labeled as "Show Selected Layers" then it would make a lot more sense to most people.
-
Did you try changing the Number Style back ? It should not make any difference but who knows it might be worth a try. It would at least make the preview have to regenerate.
-
You are quite welcome Adam... That last person I helped did not even know that was a setting let alone where to find it.
-
Somehow someway "Show All Layers" was likely selected or the file that saves those settings was corrupted. Any way you most likely want it not selected.

Glass guardrail over stringer + glass texture vs. wall
Chopsaw replied to Gawdzira's topic in General Q & A
NIce ! Glass wall perhaps rather than a railing but p-solids are likely what you will end up with in the end. -

There is the "Rotate/Resize About Current Point" tool As well as a setting in "Transform/Replicate Object" that both use the "Current Point" that work great depending on the accuracy required. Are you sure you were using the "current" point ? That is about the only deficiency of those tools since you can't be actively using points for other things. The other option is to center your grain bin on 0,0 and rotate about that, which is possibly the way you made the bin in the first place.
-
Does it give you and error code ? Perhaps your CPU is overheating and shutting you down.

I don't believe there is an Arc A layout template but you can adjust your page size but keep the scale at 1:1 and then create your own title block or edit an existing one to fit on page 0. Once you are happy with the setup save the file as a template. You can actually have several title block templates in the same file but that makes the learning curve even steeper.
-
Likely the easiest way is to let the truss company worry about that and they can use up all their short pieces of lumber and charge you for all the extra truss plates.
-
Draw a Box and then "Explode Shape" and paint away.
-
Only if you find something that chief just can't handle automatically but that should result in a Feature Request as well.
-
Yes but that does not really matter. If your railing is symmetrical just go ahead and break it at the posts and reverse every other section and dimension away.... Use the dimensions to place the posts exactly where you want them.
-
Do you mean like this ?
-
You are quite welcome. Perhaps if you post your plan file Glenn will show you how to do it automatically. He is the " Auto Roof Master " and works nights.
-
Not sure if it will do that automatically but it can be done manually by breaking the lower roof planes and bringing them up to meet the central roof plane. Once you are close you can use the join tool. Then you will end up with 4 valleys if that is what you are after.
-
It is completely possible but not quite as easy as it should be. You will need to have a little knowledge of Macro's and Ruby as well as the new Number Formatter that was introduced in X12. Maybe start here: Read through this: Or post your plan file and I will see if I can set up an example for you.
-
You may be able to remove the auto tail and splice in a p-solid to be able to render the final look.

Manually Drawing waffle foundation footings (Beams)
Chopsaw replied to georg102's topic in General Q & A
They should not do that if you are drawing Slab Footings on the foundation level of a Mono Slab ? -
Humm.... Maybe even more difficult than profiling a roof truss then. More play required I guess.

Ok then maybe not the glitch I was initially thinking but don't tell a union steel worker he can't profile an I beam. What is up with that ?

John are your referring to the roof rafters over the main structure (Great Rm) ? I think this may be a display glitch in X13. Did you test this in X12 ? The cross section is correct but the issue is clear with a framing view.
