How do I turn off save / cancel when deleting an object symbol?
Chopsaw replied to bdillard's topic in General Q & A
Could you expand on that a bit more Ryan. I could not find anything of the sort in Chief. The only thing that comes close is a Windows command " ALT + F4 " It may well have been a hot key issue because the OP has since posted about it elsewhere but even that is not making sense. -
Can you get away with using a "Standard View" elevation camera or do you want a simulated vector marble pattern ?
-
I will assume that the image in the camera view is tiny. This is usually a result of a very wide or tall model or some small object that has been placed or lost out to the side a long long way. You can often find the object by using the "fill window" tool and then slowly turning off layers until the view is "normal" and then isolate the layer and use "fill window" again. If you have a lot of items on the isolated layer you may need to move the known items to a temporary layer. It is a bit of a process sometimes so if you have difficulty you can always post the plan file and one of the experts can help.
-
You can also simply drag the selection in the direction you want to go and hit the tab key to enter the exact distance required.
-
See what happens if you select the landing where the temp dimensions show the 1/8" discrepancy and then zoom in and see if you can make that 0". Have not tried it on stairs but it works for other little things like that.
-
You might also want to read up on it before you just go ahead and turn it off and make sure it is correctly positioned first.

Putting mineral wool for sound insulation in most walls
Chopsaw replied to bdillard's topic in General Q & A
Don't make a new layer unless that is how it is actually going to be designed with a thicker wall. Normally just put a checkmark in the "Ins" column of the main layer. If you want to show it in 3D you will need to put it in manually. -
I usually just enlarge the doorway manually until it looks correct. Maybe someone else has another way ? The wall cap may need to be replaced with a manual molding if the wall intersection tool does not help the problem.
-
Not so sure I have experienced that before but there is an unresolved issue of leader lines becoming disconnected on a rather random basis, so they could definitely be related. P.S. You can add your current version to your signature so it is always visible.

Ceiling planes come with framing options which I assume there is likely some framing in there to help support the landing. By " build it out " are you referring to the triangle on the left side facing the camera ? A custom 2 x 3 or 2 x 4 no room definition wall may work there or if not you can always fill it in with a polyline solid.

Talk to @IvanCyr He has a business that specializes in exactly that.

Hi George, I think the issue now is that you can not specify two specific rooms in the same schedule. I think you need to "Include Objects from Room: " as " All " ( Note that it is Room and not Rooms ). Then hopefully rely on your " Ensuite 3 " Custom Category to isolate the things you need in that schedule. Hope that is it.

Origin Error Message- What is it Good For?
Chopsaw replied to Archnot-Boltz's topic in General Q & A
I agree deleting an unknown entity is a fairly desperate option. What happens when you select " Move" ? I agree "Find in Plan" would be a much better option here. 2 all now. -
That particular roof setting would be part of your plan template. The other reference I gave you is your Preferences in the .ini file.
-
Are you changing all your settings or just trying to get the old ones back ? The old ones should be here: C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Chief Architect Inc
-
Ky needs to use a "Broken Arch" and share your custom door symbol with Rob.
-
Yes Right after Program Files (x86) if you..... They don't want to make it too easy for you.
-
Have a look here: C:\ProgramData\Chief Architect Premier X13 Turn on "Hidden items" in File Explorer if that does not show up.
-
Have a read through this one might be helpful https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00091/restoring-chief-architect-content.html

I think that should all be here by default: C:\Users\User\Documents\Chief Architect Premier X13 Data\Toolbars

Which PDF software do you prefer for Windows?
Chopsaw replied to Electromen's topic in General Q & A
Pretty sure you can still buy Acrobat but I still prefer Reader XI for basic viewing and signatures or notes. https://www.adobe.com/ca/products/catalog.html#category=pdf -
