  1. You can shape the front wall. Just the side walls that need filling in with some other method. Place the break along the top of the wall.
  2. Have a look at the file. There is likely a bunch of materials and saved pictures and PDF's. If those are in use in the plan file then yes that will effect performance. Not that you can do without though as some will be default.
  3. Preferences> CAD> Line Properties> Endcap Printed Length:> Reduce to perhaps 1/16 or 1/32 or less and see if that helps.
  4. Your exact situation is not completely clear so you may need to post the plan file or provide some more information. If it is the grey strip you need to remove that is most likely caused by having multiple layers in your railing wall definition. It should go away if you have only a single framing layer. Otherwise a rood divider may work.
  5. Your welcome and you may have even taught me something as I would have suspected that it needed to be turned on not off.
  6. See if Global Symbol Mapping fixes it. Check Global Symbol Mapping to map the texture and pattern using the same origin on all objects. When unchecked, the origin is defined individually for each object.
  7. Both of the previous replies are correct. However if this is something you intend to do more than once there are other ways to achieve what you want, particularly if all the units are the same size which would make it fairly simple to sort out. Let me know if I can help.
  8. Rich, Manually apply the molding but first convert your curves to polylines so you can reduce the number of segments and perhaps it will meet your requirements.
  9. I would not take it as a simple no. Perhaps send that to tech support. Did you try applying a molding manually to see if the same thing happens ?
  10. Is this the one you were looking for ?
  11. One trick I used before diving deep into ruby macro's was to make a copy of the applicable line and change the line style to blank and move it to where ever it needed to be to provide a usable label for the original line. Not ideal but it works. I was not aware there were any "auto macro's" provided by chief that were useful for quadrant bearing or formatted lengths ? What did I miss ?
  12. Yes that is true so that means you have nothing entered for the label in the rafter DBX.
  13. Either your "Framing,Labels" layer is not turned on or you have not entered a rafter label. Typically rafters are not individually labeled so that is not likely turned on by default but you can do it for special circumstances or personal preference.
  14. Is it the roof plan view box that corresponds to the part of the PDF that is not visible ? Perhaps it is the roof plan view that needs to be reshaped ? If not you may need to post the file or at least a screen shot of the issue.
  15. You can get close by turning off toolbars and Status Bar and side windows etc. However I don't think you can get true full screen without a flanking portrait monitor that you can drag out onto to get rid of the header which I used to do for walkthroughs before they added the definable recording resolutions. Or stacked monitors would likely work. Not sure why the screen capture settings would not work the same way.
  16. No sorry. This has been requested and likely would not be that difficult to implement as some of the connections are already in place. I think it would be a huge productivity feature for the program. Please convert your question into feature request over on the Suggestions forum. Feel free to delete your other posting over in Tips & Techniques.

  18. You have your Angle Snap Grid tool toggled on most likely by accident. It looks like this:
  19. End Task if it takes more than half and hour I suppose. A little sooner if you remembered to save before printing which is a great habit to have. There are a lot of error codes that are not documented but have never seen a blank one before. Then again even if you do have a number and call tech support results can vary. A common lockup is when you enter the scale incorrectly and the software thinks you are printing a 60m wide page and tries it's best to do so.
  20. Without trying it, I believe scale is a factor as well if you are and architectural scale in plan view and some more suitable engineering scale in layout. then there will be a visual difference.
  21. The only other thing is your export to layout settings may be changing the line weights if line weights are turned on in layout and plan view. Send to PDF to be sure.
  22. You need to have line weights turned on in your plan view when you are setting those up or you are wasting your time as you can't print without line weights. Sorry I have done that myself unfortunately.
  23. You extend the path by moving the lead camera. Then add extra cameras in between as required if you need them for adjustments. Sometimes the stairs need to be reset with Ctrl + x then Ctrl + Alt + v or perhaps they don't quite make the connection to the upper floor. I usually use the "best fit" first then make adjustment if necessary. If that does not make sense then definitely post the file for a quick fix.by the "Solver".
