Not particularly useful unless you are really good with a 3D Connexion mouse though right ?
-
Not without editing the video or another type of software to shoot the walkthrough. It works great in Lumion and Chief has talked about adding animation but no timeline for it.

What PDF print driver did you actually use ? This seems to have some similarities to another situation that came up recently. Not sure exactly what to think about the text but that could be dependent on the PDF print driver as well for the embedded font.

That seems to be what has been done with jobs that I take over but not a true 95%, that would be too easy you need to do 94.23% or something.

Hi Gene, That is not quite how I read the question and no horses were harmed. If someone wants to share beyond what Jason has described above I am ok with that but so far the way this works is if you want to take your presentation beyond what CA is providing it take hundreds of hours research and tinkering to prefect some of these things and there are a few of us that have done that and are willing to share for a little bit of compensation. So you need to decide if you are ok with what CA is providing or if you want to be ahead of the curve and use some of these creations by the "program magicians".

Yes that is possible and quite commonly done in Chief Architect.

Would something like this work for you ? Send me a PM if you are interested.

Good work. That could definitely cause issues.

I think what you will need to do there is use an independent roof plane to create your wall cap and then a little bit of manual manipulation of the wall polyline.
-
Thank you for posting that here. First of all it would be important to get that plan and layout file to tech support. Then if someone here is going to be able to help they would need to know what version you are using and in this case the specific update # might come into play.

Perspective camera sent to layout using 'current screen' issue?
Chopsaw replied to DrawingABlank's topic in General Q & A
I once had the opposite problem of something I had masked over in layout and did not want anyone to see became visible in another application. So you need to be very careful. -
Perspective camera sent to layout using 'current screen' issue?
Chopsaw replied to DrawingABlank's topic in General Q & A
So just to confirm. Is it ghosting beyond the edges of the layout box? When you run into a PDF issue you should always run a comparison with Chief's PDF printer. Not much else will regularly out preform the "Chief Architect Save As PDF" when used with Chief. -
I was sort of thinking that might be a possibility but very complex to accomplish it. I assume the file name would need to be manually entered at some point as a reference to match to ?

Nice to see that you have thought up a system to move on from Text Macros and I hope I am not premature in my assessment but I think you may be overthinking the whole thing an missing out on the specific use of Global Macros. I would need to see a typical plan file with your system in use but I think you need to parse your data from the objects that you use in your plan otherwise I think you might be better off with Text Macros. Global Macros are most typically used to parse information from one object and then use it to make a calculation in an unassociated object, if that makes sense. It is unfortunate that Globals jump from one plan to another but I am not aware of a way to prevent that.

White lines on the elevation when printing - why?
Chopsaw replied to PIR-Designs's topic in General Q & A
Yes I am pretty sure that those preference settings in Adobe are strictly viewing options. If you have Acrobat you could try using their print driver from layout rather than chiefs but in most situations there is little to gain using an alternate print driver. -

You can always roll back your update or post the plan and layout to see if someone else that has not updated can print it for you clean. -
White lines on the elevation when printing - why?
Chopsaw replied to PIR-Designs's topic in General Q & A
It may be a new fenomena with elevations but it has been a problem with filled polylines for quite a long time. The more people that report it the higher it gets on the priority list to be fixed. -
%volume% should work fine in X13 and X14. Actually so does Eric's solution.

White lines on the elevation when printing - why?

Unfortunately I don't think it works that way. Your clients will need to know the same trick for their PDF viewer unless by chance their preferences are set that way as well or they use a different viewer that happens to handle that problem differently. Best thing to do is send it in to tech support. They are the only ones that can actually "fix" the problem so it works for everyone. It was actually @jaaos123 that came up with that solution and fortunately I was able to look it up. -
The solution from @jaaos123 works for me in Adobe Reader with your downloaded file. When you choose in Adobe Acrobat - Edit - Preferences - Page Display - and untick "smooth line art" the thin lines on the area fill disappear.

I have suggested to others in the past that they build a user library structure that mirrors your chief library format as eventually you will likely end up with a lot of modified core content in your user library. It is far from ideal but for most is the lesser of two evils.

It seems that it did take two volunteers to help you out to the point that you were able to fix the problem so it might be difficult to determine who helped the most. It is often said that a picture is worth a thousand words, however a few choice words with a picture is often worth more. Charles provided that. The important thing is to remove the "solution" from your own posting. I will let you decide if you would like to then award that to Charles or Eric. Keep in mind that marking a solution is optional and you have thanked all participants and you or others have awarded points where points are due. The only other thing that needs clarification is your signature that should read as "X14".
-
I did not provide you with the down vote but I think the issue is that you need to choose who helped you the most and award them with the "Solution". Very bad etiquette to award yourself the "solution" regardless of the circumstances. Quite likely that red thing will get fixed if you fix your mistake.
