Would that possibly be a laptop setup ? Check to see what graphics card chief is using. Preferences > Render > Video Card Status Something may have caused that to change to using the integrated video driver rather than your 2 GB Video Card.

Unfortunately I think that is all hard coded Johnny. Which makes it really difficult to set up a nice dusk or dawn rendering. I had to go to the trouble of replacing the lightbulb material in my fixtures for a sunset rendering I did but I think you actually want some fill light ? You may be able to turn the sun off and replace it with a manual light source even though that really should not be necessary. I think the other option is to somehow trick the program to think the exterior rooms are interior rooms but that would most likely be a headache.

No sorry it does not work that way. Technically you could delete the door using another more complex method but then you would be left with a hole in the side of container. Not the same as using the program the way it was designed to build houses where if you delete a door then you have a wall that fills in the hole. Think of the material as simply the paint or wallpaper pattern and not the object.

I did not look the PDF over too carefully but one thing to watch out for is making sure all of the elevations you use are ground level as surveyors usually measure to the top of features but if you are familiar with the site and know the actual height of the feature that is called out you can subtract that value from the measured elevation. At first glance it looks like there should be almost enough information available if you work with it. You might be right though as the surveyor would have likely done the contours if it was easy.

Not so easy. You need to find a friend with Revit or ArchiCad that can convert for you. Not sure there is another way unless your source has another format choice. You could try posting here and someone may be able to help but there are a limited number of users here that use both programs. Sorry I read that as a .rfa symbol and not a .rft plan file.

Ah ok. It likely does not work to display and work on both walls. That might be to much to ask. Try them independently.

Apparently that is supposed to work automatically when the stairs are connected so maybe check the stair connection.

I am not sure if this is the correct approach for brick ledges but if you want to give it a try you can adjust the display of the pony walls for upper and lower to use the wall intersection tool.

If you do a backup you would then need to open the plan file from the backup. Do a save as and chief will keep that file linked to the program. Not really sure about the camera movement but the focal point may have changed or you may need to close the camera and open a new one. GTX 960 should work fine in X12 but you will want to consider an upgrade for X13 and X14 to an RTX card.

Saving to a local folder is adequate. Backup plan file is generally used for sharing a plan with another user or securely archiving a final version with all it's associated files.

I have done it successfully before many moons ago but forget all the steps required. I think you need to set up your own custom Camera View Layerset with Roof Planes and ceiling surfaces etc. turned off and make that the Layerset that the walkthrough camera uses. Not using the Floor Overview camera like you would think. This would only work with a 1 story structure without a tone of extra work so depending on the quality required you might do a two story with the Floor Overview Camera and a 3rd party screen recorder by initiating a camera spin.

Sorry but I don't think so Rob. You might just have to do your best in elevation or section view with story pole dimensions. Strange how Story Pole seems the recognize Highest Ridge yet Ruby does not nor Chief's Global macro's.

Run the side walls and side roof planes of the bump out back into the roof and bring the ridge height of the cricket up to match the new bump out so that it forms valleys that drain. Actually no cricket just run the new roof planes back to the existing so it all drains to the sides or forward and not back.

Yes this is a common problem. I believe this can be done in Sketchup with relative ease but it is also possible in Chief by using the Delete Surfaces tool and recreating a new symbol. It can be a bit tedious so sometimes changing the symbol's smoothing angle can make it easier.

Those E21 Craftsman doors are from the library. Are the glass panels from the library or parametric ? Possibly parametric doors fit the opening differently. If so try the F01

That could certainly be a possible issue or slow down. Being used to a SSD I am not sure I could imagine a USB connection. If you can figure out exactly what toolbar is failing there are automatic backups that you could try and that would eliminate the possibility of file corruption.

Any chance you are using a cloud service tor your data files ? Also try an take note of the exact sequence that causes the issue... 3D view, Elevation view, etc. I believe there are 7 toolbar types and 6 or maybe 5 stock toolbar configurations.

Hi buzz, So it opens fine initially and then crashes your toolbar when you open a plan file, or when you change views that would trigger a new toolbar configuration ? What action caused it to crash and it looks like maybe it does not crash completely but leaves you in a corrupted state ? If it was a bug, I think others would be seeing the same thing. I am almost thinking it might be a memory issue or a corrupt directory.
