There is an option to "Use Plan View Scale" or you can compress the column horizontally to reduce the size.

Have a look at the framing view Larry and you will see what is happening. Turn off "Trim Framing to Soffits".

That was just off the top of my head, so possibly not. We went over that exact situation in one of Scott's webinars about 5 years ago though and had it working somehow. If I have a moment I will see if I can find it.

I guess it depends on what you are going to show in your documentation but I think a manually drawn attic wall would be a lot more compatible with most situations.

No your library is independent of any particular plan file. Just select an individual item and right click, or a folder will work as well. Actually the same process for you entire User Library... Just what is selected. If you want to export in a different format that is when you need a clean plan file. .DAE or .3DS etc.

It kind of depends on how many cad details you intend to work with. Some people have a dedicated plan file just for cad details and organize them by floor level. Plan files also have cad detail pages for all kinds of 2D information that have a separate index system in the drop down of the Project Browser. You might want to spend some of your free time watching some of the instructional video's before you develop any bad habits. Pretty simple after you have done it once. Select the symbol and "Add to Library" Then from the Library right click and "Export Library..." Save and post the .calibz file.

I don't see any locked layers so not likely that. Also page 0 is not a blind guess as there are two previous threads that I based that on.

Any number of reasons but most likely you placed it onto page 0. If so you can only select and delete it from page 0.

Normally you would bring a cad detail into plan view or a cad detail window so the scale can be controlled better. If you notice when you select it, it will be one big box and you will see a tool like this on the active tool bar which allows you access to all the components. Not sure if it applies to chief details or not but be aware that a cad block can also have embedded cad blocks.

Those are cad blocked so they can be stored in the library. Explode the block to edit. One handy thing before you explode is to have ALDO open and set to NOT Show All Layers so you can be sure all applicable layers are turned on when the cad block is selected before exploding.

Generally the title block and anything else that you want to appear on every page of the layout are edited on page 0. Normally just basic cad and text but macro's can also be used. Once you have a setup that you like and will use again save it as your custom template.

Likely there would be a few ways you could do the but unfortunately not with the door tools. Create a symbol with the jamb and casing using moldings and insert it into the wall. Or use two transparent backsplashes to create a hole on each side of the wall and then trim it out with jamb and casing moldings and it would remain live and editable but a little fiddly with all those components occupying essentially the same space but also the advantage of having snap points from the backsplashes. It seems that you have wi-fi in the hospital so double check your digital locker and make sure your are signed out and verify your key code. Not sure why it would not work if those are correct.

Maybe try loading the files onto a USB stick just to see if that works and possibly someone who has experienced that exact situation might chime in. Wow. I can't see that as the actual solution but it may have had an indirect benefit.

It would not hurt to check that to be sure it is set the same on both computers.

There is also a "File Locking" setting in Preferences but not sure if that could be a factor or not.

Just an empty plan file should be about 2-3 MB for the template information alone. Something seems to happen if the file is uploaded while it is still open and less data is contained in the file so check the file size.. I would think a nearly complete plan would have some size like maybe 15 - 40 MB. Possibly the upload to the cloud account is having the same issues.

That seems to be the same message you get when someone uploads a plan file to the forum here while the file is still open. Is there anything more than the file shell based on the size ?

First of all do the foundation last. You can edit a cad detail. It will just be tedious and you will not have any of the automation available in plan view. If you anticipate a lot of revisions then the three plan file approach would make the most sense.

When you send to layout there is an option "Current Screen As Image" . However if it is a plan view it will be primarily cad so I think a Cad Detail From View would work much better, take less memory, and leave you the option of adding to the view or doing some minor edits if necessary and the detail will remain live. Use the Images for camera views that you don't want to update.
