Delete the Molding from the Room DBX and create a Manual Room Molding Polyline which can be edited.

If those walls are a little closer together you can set the interior one to be "Furred" and then in the window DBX Under the Casing tab you can set the Double Wall Options.

Sorry I had to check my notes on this one but you can get a Pass-Through to show on the schedule or block it from showing by going to the Schedule DBX under the general tab and select "Object to Include" or Not Include listing. Ray it seems the walls need to be closer for the furred option to work.

If I am not mistaken it is usually one or the other or none at all. Both is not an option unless you have some sort of a special window ? It appears that you have two individual windows there in you screen shot, or at least a Pass-Through and a window of which the PT will not appear on the window schedule as it is not technically a window. Somehow I thought that a Pass-Through could previously be put on a schedule but I could be wrong. You can suppress the label of the Pass-Through if that satisfies you situation for now.

Yes thank you Dermot for providing that comprehensive answer. I was really just trying to help bernie out with his old computer. However Dermot's answer should help all the rest of us know what to put on our Christmas wish list to run X11 with.

You can do that several ways. Depending on the level of accuracy you can use the floor material or floor material regions or a combination of the two or even multiple floor material regions. Psolids also work. It is completely up to you and how you need to display it in your presentation or drawing set.

Go to Preferences> General> Folders> All Program Paths: on your old laptop. And show that to your tech expert. For X10 to run the way you had it setup a bunch of those files need to be transferred to the new laptop. I suspect you are missing your Program Data and User Setting as well as Preferences, maybe more. If as it sounds you have already run X10 on the new laptop without transferring those files then you will need to delete the auto generated files and replace them with the original ones. You can draw almost anything with the software but you are responsible for the engineering and meeting local codes. You can use a post with footing and delete the post if you like.

I thought we were getting it with X10. There was a pre-release teaser about being able to select items from schedules that I figured was a byproduct of the programming required to make it all happen.

Has that changed recently Graham ? My experience with all aspects of Chief with the exception of raytracing has been similar to what Kevin posted just recently. I thought that more cores were only suggested if they were not at the expense of processor clock speed. If you push hard enough to put Chief into a state of "not responding" task manager will indicate that only one core is maxed out. Oh hey I just noticed this is in Sales Related Questions so maybe we will get an "Official" answer.

I don't understand the reason why the bearing line is snapping to the center of the beam and that should possibly be looked at. However it should not matter if the beam is flush with the top of the joists. For me it works at either edge or the center and only requires a single bearing line. On my initial test the beam was not flush. Post the plan or a simplified version of it that is behaving the same way. Maybe we can figure this out.

No they are still independent after selecting together and converting to solid. It just changes their properties. They can be combined or subtracted after. Yes it is a lot to learn so pace yourself. Watch as many video's as you can take in and practice what you learn.

Yes exactly. I think this is what you are looking for in terms of accuracy with a floor plan or survey. P.S. Use a cad line set to a decimal number style to measure with. That tape measure thing is useless until they get it fixed.

Transform and replicate keeps the aspect ratio the same. Just scale a known distance. The longer it is the more accurate it is likely to turn out as long as it is an accurate number like on a survey, and calculate the scale factor. Or convert your PDF to .dwg so you don't have to mess with an embedded pdf. Still needs to be scaled but a little easier with snaps.

It will auto generate if you rotate but not when you resize. That is what the controversy was about.

It would seem that this does work in X7 and you can also select and move a bearing line which will also work if it is in the center of the beam.

Yes mostly as far as I know. However I still do not quite understand the difference between the two previous screen shots I posted. The only thing I can think of is that maybe chief put that one in the library with a custom 2D cad block for some reason, but there may be more to it than that. It would be great to get a comment from @Adrean or someone who really knows their symbols.

Yes that seems to be the current situation in X10. It is a little counter intuitive and suggestions have been made. Hope they listened for X11. Keep us informed with your progress as that looks to be quite a complicated layout.
