  1. It seems to have something to do with the 2D Block being absolutely huge. Take note of the Y coordinate in the bottom right of my screen shot. It did not work yesterday for me but I was able to isolate the symbol into a new plan file and recreate it for a fix. Let me know if you have any issues doing that as I can post the fixed version for you if you like.
  2. Yes you can select it in you elevation view an use the Break Line tool to add more sections and adjust them to fit. Or just start over and use and arc.
  3. Sounds like you have it now. Thanks for helping out Tommy. My illustration was not as smooth as it could be because I just matched the arch of the symbol which likely did not really need to be a symbol and could be smoother with just a psolid. Did you manage to figure out why that "Event Hall" sign symbol was so corrupted ? I worked on it for a while but gave up.
  4. Found it. That was really messing your camera views up on you.
  5. Yes essentially a polyline sketched over the symbol in elevation view and then converted to a 3D Molding Polyline. Just trying to figure out your extents issue. Do you remember what you were working on before that warning came up ?
  6. Likely a 3D molding Polyline would work if you want to define the bottom of the arch so that it stands out from the background. Something like this ?
  7. Not so sure chief does 3D DWG. That would explain the lack of faces. Try 3DS or DAE.
  8. Ok, same as I use but you seem to have a bit more of the rainbow on walls (not sure of the technical term) than I usually do. Maybe just the PBR as I have not done much of that yet.
  9. You might be referring to symbol rotation or transform and replicate has rotation settings. Hover on the tool icon and press F1 for more info or open the DBX and click HELP.
  10. Can you send that into tech support as Chief is aware of that issue and I thought they fixed it. Their solution at the time was to turn off shadows. Which is entirely unacceptable in my opinion. Curious what codec you are using ? Otherwise great video.
  11. Chief Architect Core Catalogs > Materials > Flooring > Vinyl Laminate > Checker Or make a tile material that has that same pattern so it will tile seamlessly. The larger the original material is the more complex the pattern can be.
  12. There must be something I missed Mark. Can't seem to make it work but would love it if I could. Could you post a 20 sec. video ?
  13. There are now several ways to resize a layout box the same way yet we have lost the default left click and proportionally drag out the corner of the layout box that we had in X9. Please see this thread for the complex detailed way it needs to be done now. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/17226-how-do-i-now-resize-a-view-sent-to-layout-in-x10/?tab=comments#comment-166037 I really hope tech support did not suggest that their solution was the same as the X9 functionality because the "x" and drag is the same as X9 but is not proportional.
  14. Open the image dbx in the layout and it will allow you to save it in the layout file so you don't have to sync files.
  15. That is what I was thinking as well but it did not seem to sound like a one room structure. The other option is to turn off "Select Room Before Wall in 3D" in Preferences > Architectural > Walls.
  16. Sorry I had to run out on you before explaining the countertop molding. For next time make sure the molding fully surrounds the countertop and then paint it the same color. Draw one to scale that only has 4 sides if you need to show it in vector view but this one is a modified stock library item.
  17. Have to run out for a bit but any of those methods will work. Check this for Wireframe.
  18. Try a Countertop with a molding or solid subtraction. Wire frame modeling also works great for things like chimney caps and shower pans.
  19. Recreate the 2d cad block and you should be good.
  20. I think the roof plane will be an issue Mike. Likely need to make a symbol from that one if you need it in the library. Otherwise just keep it in a plan file if it needs to be edited later as symbols don't explode well.
  21. Any chance they are connected perimeter walls ? Select the exterior room and "Make Room Polyline" and open it. It will give you the combined Length.
  22. Sounds like you are using Live Views, Open the Layout box to check the DBX. Try Plot Lines with Color Fill and it should be a little crisper although there is still a slight offset issue with the color fill that still exists in X10 unfortunately.
  23. I don't think Chief has a Stock layout for those sizes although their use is quite common. Easy to take an existing one and edit the paper size and borders which you will likely want to do anyway and save it as a new template. Are your elevations plot lines with color fill or live? And what version are you using ?
