  1. Hang platform should be checked under the wall dbx - structure
  2. Could be floor defaults for ceiling height or could be foundation wall default height. What happens if you draw main floor and have foundation auto-build?
  3. Perhaps go to defaults-foundation and adjust your stem wall height.
  4. Your double garage is set to default room height but the rest of the rooms are not. This is where you are getting the stepping from. Not sure if you want that for your rooms or the garage.
  5. I agree with Tom. Use pony walls with doorways set to no casing and then moulding lines or p solids for decorative casing. Just adjust the walls in elevation for your decorative rail. 2306_partial_plan_pony_walls.plan
  6. Did you use the framing and beams from a automatically framed deck and just move them around to your liking or did you use general framing members? you would have to make sure that the layer is turned on to display whichever one you used. The framing would normally display on the "0" level if that layer is on. You could create annnoset for decks. I have one for framing, one for structural posts and beams and one for railings.
  7. Sometimes closing plan and layout then reopening solves that. Another option is to send to layout again.
  8. You could place a door way with no casing to height you desire to replace the invisible wall.
  9. By the looks of things you already have them linked. Did you do this manually? In the dbx you just need to check automatic for text below line.
  10. Go to defaults then to CAD - General CAD bottom of dbx
  11. You can control the length of beam by just dragging end in plan view. I believe it shows through the wall if you surpass half the wall thickness or more. Here we go with 3" bearing plus 1/2" space.
  12. It would be nice if we could specify bullnose or square etc. in stair dbx.
  13. I would create a molding and use a molding line . Simple detail should suffice for framers and finishers.
  14. cwrm74, See if this helps you. Had a job where i needed it so made a quick material. You should be able to paint on any colour you want. Roof Tile.calibz
  15. You could try building deck first and then use straight railing walls on level below to create walls and or posts and beams. I named the room as Porch. Use windows for your your screens and change glass material to screen or create a custom and make it window or millwork. I used sliding window to make the door. Doors don't play well with railing walls.
  16. You could create a moulding profile of the flashing you want and just use a moulding line where you want the flashing.
  17. When you create new second floor, go to bottom of options and make blank plan. Next turn on your reference display(F9) and draw your walls where the outbuilding is. Make sure walls are aligned and rebuild roof.
  18. If you want to use a rail that somebody else created instead of making your own baluster, there is something similar in the link below. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/11934-custom-deck-railing-question/
  19. I would use a soffit to lower ceiling over cabinet....it's found in cabinet child menu. To get tile on left wall just apply wall material region in section view or elevation view.
  20. Post the plan. Could be lots of guesses without it. From the pictures I can tell you that your roof sloping towards that wall where balcony is, is not a good thing.
  21. I believe you will have to do it manually. If you had premiere then you could use macros to do some of what you want.
  22. Glad i don't have to worry about fascia mounts here in Ontario. We aren't allowed to do it. Only if deck is below 24" off grade when it doesn't require railing. I just do my posts and rails manually. It's easier to control where I want them and most are custom for the job.
  23. 1. Click exterior room just outside of wall on exterior. 2. While this is selected on your bottom toolbar you will have option to create moulding polyline...select this. 3. Set height you want the moulding(s) at. 4. Click on your moulding polyline you created and set your moulding profile and extrude inside of line should be unchecked.
  24. I found it has to be set to fill in three places...the room type, the floor and actual room for it to work.
  25. Go into the structure dbx of one of the rooms where section is cutting through and make sure you have fill in sub-floor there as well, not just default settings. I'd call it a bug but x8 did same thing.
