  1. Austin, if you go to the attic level you can move that wall back the distance required. You could then use even a cabinet shelf or p solid to finish it.
  2. Mike are you referring to the joist direction arrows/callout? If you are you are basically stuck with what you see. I always have to put text box over. Would be nice if we could specify the label. That and I cringe when I see lowercase letters in plans...goes against everything we were taught lol.
  3. One of my current projects has a new walk-out to be cut in for a basement apartment. We have 48" frost line here, so have to go deep as well as underpin and insulate with rigid foam. You definitely will need to have drainage..would fail inspection here without drainage instantly.
  4. Artisan, are you in a frost wall climate? You may need to extend foundation walls down and do a bit more modifying if so.
  5. Just curious here...are you just using this to copy on a one time basis or is it to drop multiple copies? What happens when you let go of drag handle once copy is made? Does the item snap back to it's origin?
  6. Not 100% positive but I think if you change the default program in windows it would change that.
  7. Same problem was occurring in the eagle windows catalogue I believe. I believe you can just change material but you should let Chief know.
  8. You're welcome. Not sure why when it is checked that it doesn't stay with the red colour but it can definitely make for confusion.
  9. Hi Jim. If you uncheck "wall layers" in your reference floor display options, it will show you all red.
  10. Your angled walls are what you wanted for sizing and even put roll up doors and roof. Frankys GHD2.plan
  11. If you are using many of the same mulled units; just do it once and add to library. You can then click on other ones in plan and replace from library. Just use replace all identical objects on floor.
  12. The RTS lights are just sources of light, for fine tuning a ray trace or camera view. They are not a real light fixture. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00777/working-with-light-sources.html
  13. Michael, Just drag the walls down in cross section view to your 14' height and use a ceiling plane for the new room.
  14. Sherry, the post from ACAD was for the symbol for the wall outlets. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/5031-central-vacuum-wall-inlet/
  15. Do you have to show whole house plan or is it just Kitchen? Maybe make more floors and copy/hold position for cabinetry. you could then have different finish on different floors
  16. We already have that Johnny
  17. Those would be the arc or radius makers. I have only got those from importing dwg. They should have their own layer if that is case.
  18. Maybe this might help. https://www.nationalcadstandard.org/ncs6/content.php
  19. Scott, Just drag the symbol until the X shows on your cabinet face line. No need for new symbol.
  20. Check if you set your time zone in your profile.
  21. Have you tried printing in greyscale instead of black & white when colour is off? Believe it's a setting in preferences.
  22. Alex look in library Lighting/Wall Mounted/Semi Flush Mounted/Spotlights
  23. You might want to try the "Gable Over Door/Window" button in the edit bar when you click on the the window. Might have to play with roof planes after but probably easier than invisible walls etc...
