You need to convert the major Contour lines ( Red) in Chief to Elevation Data ( Lines ) and set the Heights on each one.... The DWG doesn't do that automatically , at least not in this case..... * do NOT let Elevation DATA touch or cross each other or weird and wonderful things will happen eg spikes and holes.... Yellow data is not needed, Chief will generate the secondary contours automatically. Mick.

A long known Issue , some are having luck with Nvidia Latest Drivers......

It seems to be a Card that Chief has always had issues with...... https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/search/?q= 5700 XT&updated_after=any&sortby=relevancy&search_and_or=and M.

True oops....I was thinking Toolbars , not Scrollbars......, with both Windows and MacOS , you can change the size, and whether they show all the time, and I know on a MAC , on some systems they come with have Scrollbars OFF by default, so Chief can't use them even if on in Chief. Windows 10 will also hide them if this setting is on.....

Since you haven't done your Signature , I am only guessing as I don't know if it the OS or Chief is causing it....... https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/18908-signature-here-at-chief-talk/?tab=comments#comment-155662 1 thought in Chief might be the button size

If you are looking at a Website Selling it, be VERY Dubious about it's authenticity. M.

This should put you on the right path.......

You can't buy SSA for X12 , current version only , for X12 you would need to upgrade to X13 ...but that includes SSA and is currently $625 on Sale.

Oh...sorry the "cheap trick" is to just assign the same texture as above ( copy and paste down ) , and then play with the values.... M.

Chief Walls always try to join on the centerline , but in some situations Chief can't decide where each material should stop and needs a bit of help, which is where the Wall Layers Edit Tool comes in.... click on the Wall , then the Tool on the Edit toolbar and you will see more diamonds appear to pull the wall layers, like the Drywall and Framing with.
-
Replacing the Glass Standard material from the library would also do it I think the Siding looks "flat" cos it is it just a 2D image, ( with fake shadows at the lap ) but playing with the bump map and turning down the Sun intensity blazing on that Wall may help too. Mick.

All Views in Chief are 3D whether they look like it or not and thus are effected by the new Rendering engine, even the Library and PB Previews etc you could try the HF Driver 511.72 (above) or perhaps an older Driver like 472.12 which is stable for many Users on other Forums. I will say I have far fewer Issues on my 3080 if I don't use STD View , but it is not the same experience X12 was. M.

Design challenge - Rafters connected to Ledger on interior Wall
Kbird1 replied to InfiniteArts's topic in General Q & A
Might be best to ask on HomeTalk rather than ChiefTalk for HD Pro specific Tips.... even though roofs are pretty much the same...... https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/ -
A Plan would help , another possibility is the Wall Definition and where you have the Platform building to?
-
One thought would be what is you Save Dialog Size and Position set too in Preferences?
-
It should be included if the option is checked ?

Those with Windows 11 seem to be having a better experience with the latest Driver 511.65 ( assuming you aren't already using it? ) https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/186770/en-us Nvidia has also released a newer hotfix Driver since 511.72 https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5320

How do you show 2x4 exposed walls in Chief Architect?
Kbird1 replied to DeniseR's topic in General Q & A
and Choose Frame 3 1/2 or 5 1/2 instead , and as suggested build Framing and turn on Wall framing in 3D views. -
How too Video.....https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/18908-signature-here-at-chief-talk/?tab=comments#comment-155662 This is the usual problem I have found.... Use straight Deck Rail or Edge , not Straight Railing which is the interior railing.

Can we turn a custom toolbar into a drop-down menu to save space?
Kbird1 replied to Christina_Girerd's topic in General Q & A
As others mentioned , No as far as I am aware too , but seeing as most monitors these day are widescreen, I find adding a couple of extras on the the RH Side like my "Bathroom Toolbar" works pretty well. I also have all my Dims Shortcuts on the RH side too now.... -
there is a known issue with multi-monitor setups if the computer uses Nahimic's 3D Radar Software....
-
It is in the Core Library...so should be there....try an update on your Libraries or "Install Core" Mick.

In a Hot Climate like Florida, Sheet Metal could be an issue even heavy gauge , not sure if Alum. or another metal would be any better though? perhaps ask the Railing Manufacturer for Ideas? M.
-
I've had my Sheetmetal guy do custom bent Black Metal, like your red line for a few jobs looks nice with Black Railings.... not sure if that works for you as there is a limit on (metal) lengths Mick.
