Dan has a Video on his method here in the CA Library...... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/1966/want-to-be-faster-at-measuring-a-remodel-project-by-dan-baumann.html
-
I see it too , especially on the T in Layout.... What settings are being used when sending to layout though? perhaps a pic of the Send to Layout DBX , so others can test too will help. Are those the 3D text letters from the Library? M.
-
If this doesn't fix it you may have turned off "Show wall length when editing" ............hit Alt-Q to bring up the DBX.
-
It can also be done as Ray suggested , you just need to turn off Automatic Roof Build after letting the Roof build at 9ft and then set the Ceiling height to 12' , and possibly uncheck Has Flat Ceiling in some rooms if you want the Vaulted look. M.

Good news , make sure to disable Driver Updates from Windows Update per the 382.05 Thread so you aren't automatically updated to a newer version again. M.
-
It sounds like Graham and Mark are on the right Track with it being a Driver issue , it is possible that the latest Windows 10 Update also update the Video Driver and it is not compatible , but we'd need alot more info on your system , eg a model no# and perhaps a link to the Page at HP for it. You can add your system Info to your signature as most of us do , it is very easy to fill in, especially with the Software Version, and of course a real Name is nice too ..............see mine below in Blue for how to do that. If you don't see my Signature then you have them turned off for the Forum so you need to Toggle it on in UserName>Account >Signatures...... go to the Upper RH Corner of Forum Window. M.

You could try an older Nvidia Driver , eg 382.05 ( link below ) as the 670M is not supported by the latest Nvidia Drivers apparently.
-
Sounds like one for Tech Support , I don't think I have ever seen a Beach Ball so I'm not much help.... you may have a bad symbol in the Library , especially if you import stuff from the SketchUp 3D Warehouse etc but you will need to provide more info as nobody even knows what Software you are using or what version.....I suggest filling in your Forum Signature and providing a few more details if you can..... see below. It's good to have your Forum Signature filled in, especially with the Software Version, and of course a real Name is nice too ..............see mine below in Blue for how to do that. If you don't see my Signature then you have them turned off for the Forum so you need to Toggle it on in UserName>Account >Signatures...... go to the Upper RH Corner of Forum Window. M.

No Sorry Olivia, it was a general comment and not aimed at you..... always happy to have another contributing member here , since the Forums are User helping User ( mostly ). It's good to have your Forum Signature filled in, especially with the Software Version, and of course a real Name is nice too ..............see mine below in Blue for how to do that. If you don't see my Signature then you have them turned off for the Forum so you need to Toggle it on in UserName>Account >Signatures...... go to the Upper RH Corner of this Forum Window and Click on your User Name >Account Settings. I noticed the same thing actually , for whatever reason People on the Net don't seem to think "good manners" eg a Thank You is needed when Help is provided...

Multiple copy makes it easier to place on 8ft and 4ft joints etc , corners can be an issue still though.... there have been a few threads on doing this , so try a Forum search eg on Hardie Panels or similar Terms. M.

In the simple Cross section (OP) isn't just a CAD Box with with Fill the easy solution or have I missed something in the discussion ? I too have run into the "Solids not really being Solids" , (just faces) issue too in the past. M.

Sorry to hear that Scott, I've had a few with X10 but mainly the SEH Error Type , but the Bad one I had was Corrected in 20.2.0.51 , they were able to use my "Reports" ( from the send report button ) to track it down , so one word of advice is always to hit the Send Report Button regardless , even if you have already done it " 9 times this morning ". Be happy to try your file too like others, if you want to post it.......and if they are suddenly inundated with Send Report Files , they may be able to track it down ...

That looks correct Habdou , everything should be selected , so that when you search the only place it looks is the User Folder . You don't see that in the Manage Filters Window as the Filter System works backwards ( to my thinking ) as mentioned , the DBX only shows what you want to hide not what you want to see included in a filter. M.
-
Click on the Manage Filters Icon ( Funnel? with a red+) and you can select the folders and library to HIDE in a custom Filter , though I am not sure it can isolate the exact folder you want ? I have filters for Core, Bonus, Manu. and User setup though. ***Note: the check boxes HIDE what you don't want to see in a Filter ie it works opposite from what you expect ...or at least what I expected.

Joe has a couple of threads in the Offers Forum, he did have a monthly Subscription Service too, not sure about Michael ?

Sounds like you need to make a Post in the Suggestions Forum then to add the above Reference Point into the available list of Choices on the Auto Storey Pole along with the ability to use a breakline on segment 1, so the MSL Reference isn't Off the Drawing especially when sent to Layout. It also seems like some want Top of Headers while other want bottom of headers ,but I guess that depends also on how you Frame , ie is the Header under the double Top Plate as many do now or the Traditional way ie just above the Window / Door. M.
-
I guess I still don't get what you want to see because by changing the MSL reference to 152 feet in my plan ( posted above ) it seems to show what you are asking for... admittedly the Finished Grade marker was done Manually as mentioned, though I am not sure why on a Storey Pole, Finished Grade (Terrain ) would not / is not, an Auto Option to Add or Remove depending on the need. It would be nice to be able to "shorten" the Segment / put a breakline in it , that goes down to MSL too.
-
Sorry Tommy , I should of made it clearer I was replying to Erin , not your OP , I thought you had sorted your issue out with the new P to P Tool Markers in X10? M.
-
Yes , that is what I was saying , you don't need to do that if doing it this way..... everything is left at Defaults which is much easier to deal with, I found if I changed Floor 1 , then tried adding a floor (or 3) thing soon got very complicated, but perhaps I had it set up wrong ? so I tried it this way and it seems to work but others should have a play with it , and see if it is indeed a viable method. M.

Why would you need to adjust "everything" ? maybe I am missing something? I was just playing around with this and it is a big mess if you try adjusting things as you start a plan it seems, ie adding a 2nd floor caused it to drop inside the 1st floor etc as it still referenced the Old Heights unless I manually worked out the new absolute heights. I found it is much easier to do the Section and Storey Pole AFTER the drawing is complete , at least that way works for me in a test plan , and you don't need to play with the Terrain height or Level 1 height as essentially you are only changing the Storey pole reference point , not the Level 1 height which is how I think Glenn does it ? I added the Finish Grade Marker manually by clicking on the Outer Dimension Line and dragging the Triangle down to the Terrain (dirt) and then adding the Text via the Dimension segment in the DBX. Maybe I am missing something? and this doesn't work on a Real World Plan ??? but have a look at the attached Plan , I made Notes for myself for future reference as I played in the saved Section View , but if a Client moved the house 2' higher it would be simple enough to change the default heights used eg 700' in my test plan to 702' and the Storey Pole should adjust accordingly with no need to touch anything else. Sounds like you may have the Grid Snapping still on , even though you have all the other Snaps Off ....... if the Tape Measure Tool does the same thing , then that is the Issue , if you hold the CTRL Key you can temporarily disable the Snapping Grid till you let CTRL go , you can also toggle it on/off via the Icon on the RH side toolbar or use the hot key CTRL-F9 to toggle it too Also, it's good to have your Forum Signature filled in, especially with the Software Version, and of course a real Name is nice too ..............see mine below in Blue for how to do that. If you don't see my Signature then you have them turned off for the Forum so you need to Toggle it on in UserName>Account >Signatures...... go to the Upper RH Corner of Forum Window. M.

FYI ...another followup on using IMDisk , ( see post above too) for me a 2nd issue has arisen , IMdisk was stopping Windows Update from Working , I suspect something do do with the Windows Temp File/Folder , but once the Ram Disk was unmounted and IMDisk uninstalled the Win10 Updates installed as normal again. seems to be an issue for others as well https://sourceforge.net/p/imdisk-toolkit/tickets/9/ -

That's great news for everyone then , I knew he was considering your license. Don't forget to add a Sold to your X10 Post Title then....
