I am not sure what Best Practice is but I have always had it in the bottom left hand Corner of the Window when I open my Template Plan (for Visual Reference), if you hit Delete before you start drawing ( ie nothing selected) ,the Point disappears and you know you have started pretty close. I am not sure if CA has gotten better with dealing with the Z-fighting Issue or not but I have not seen it so much in the last couple of years.... M.

There is another post in the Offers Forum , it is $695 to upgrade to the latest version X10 though.

The Image is too small to tell anything really , but I didn't make these LEDs and there maybe some quirks with them I am not 100% sure. Posting the Plan or a sample plan may help , I am not sure if RT still has the 8 lights limit or not in X10, I am not using RT much now as PBR is faster and easier to adjust lighting in and you can set you own max number of lights eg my default is 100 . it's good to have your Forum Signature filled in, especially with the Software Version, and of course a real Name is nice too ..............see mine below in Blue for how to do that. If you don't see my Signature then you have them turned off for the Forum so you need to Toggle it on in UserName>Account >Signatures...... go to the Upper RH Corner of Forum Window. M.

Mark posted some LED strip lights in the Symbols Forum today , you can open the plan and save one of the horizontal ones to your Library and try it. It is easy to adjust the number and spacing of the Light Sources on the Light Data Tab , you should be able to make a 8' section with a light every 6" for example and then copy paste it around the room. The number of lights you can turn on may depend on your videocard and Cheif Version though....you still haven't filled in you signature so nobody will be sure.... see my Sig. for how to do yours....

Thanks Graham , maybe @Renerabbitt made two sets ? and I missed these ones then? at least the InvisiLED set linked above appears to be different than the ones Mark included in the OP. M.

FYI .... you can Input a Point at 0,0, in your Template Plan so you always start drawing near 0,0 which should alleviate this issue. M.

Didn't you upgrade MadCow? time to update your Sig. if so..... I'd delete the 3Dplant library and run a fw days without it and see if it helps , then reinstall when needed... M.

How did you Import them ? it's just a standard CA library , so Library> Import Library ? 1. I am not sure without example pics what you mean by this as don't seem to have that issue ( if I understand correctly ) 2. they are 45° fittings facing left by default ( light data is 315°) but they are pretty small so it's hard to tell if you for eg set the light Data to 45° or 0° however you can also Open the Symbol ( chair and pencil icon) and rotate the symbol 45° in the Z Axis to have them point straight out too or 90° to have the Lightbar face right however you still need to Rotate the light Data as well as Rotate the symbol does not rotate the Light sources. 3. The height reference is to center of the Fitting , so I am not sure why you think it is to the Ceiling , unless you have changed the Symbols Options? are they no longer Wall Mounted?

The OP's problem maybe to do with Windows Scaling perhaps , particularly if the 3 monitors are not all the same.... Windows Own Snipping Tool work well for screen shots of partial screen shots and know let you choose different shapes or a particular Window too, you can mark up with the Pen too but it doesn't have a text option unfortunately. it's in Windows Accessories , though I have it pinned to my taskbar....

I personally have not had good luck with Acronis , it comes free with WD Drives and Samsung's SW is no better, at least for me , I have used Macrium successfully now for the last 3-4 years , including swapping out my Samsung 250gb Evo 850 for a Samsung 500gb 960 EVO NVME Drive last year. M.

There are many such issues with the ML as it does not use Industry Standard / accepted methods for Take Offs , a pet peeve of Mine , since the ML was one of the Reasons for getting CA originally for me.... it something they have promised to work on for the last 3-4 versions but I haven't found it much better despite X10's ML upgrades. Admittedly I have not spent alot of time with the ML in X10 as I don't trust it enough to use for bids etc..... it only contains what is in the model as well another downfall currently. M.

My guess would be Win7 does not have the appropriate Drivers for the MX500 --- SSD or NVME , NVME could be an issue with Win7.... Hook the drive up as a secondary drive with the old HDD as main and see if the SSD is seen or if Win7 needs additional Drivers. What SW did you use to clone the Drives? Try Macrium Reflect Free perhaps , and use the "Fix Boot Option , in the rescue disk Menu before rebooting too.

Hi , not sure if it is part of the issue but none of the effected windows are recessed to Sheathing , and when I turned recessed on, the casing disappeared altogether, which lead me to change the casing to Chief's baseboard CA-001 ( sizes left at default ) and the Casing came back , so there maybe an issue with the Brosco Moulding Library?

Rene made some Strip lights in the Symbols Forum which I adjusted and made a few extra versions you could try playing with....

I am using 397.64 with my 1070Ti currently and haven't had any issues but I am not using CA heavily ATM. 391.24 was the other good one for me.......as the 1070Ti will not run anything less than the 388 Series.

Metric Work is usually done in mm (millimeters) not cm (centimeters) just so you know. M.

Personally I have always installed Flooring where the Appliances are eg on the last job under the Slide in Range , dishwasher , and Undercounter Washer and Dryer. M.

Just a FYI.....If you have X9 and SSA you should have X10 automatically ...otherwise it would cost $695 to upgrade to the latest Version , however I don't think SSA is transferable to a new Owner , something to contact CA Sales about as you will need the Transfer Papers and to pay the Transfer Fee as well . M.

I think it is a Regional thing , as here it is rare to have flooring go in 1st , to much chance of damaging it, though I do it occasionally if a Client has future plans to change layout or type of cabinets. Generally we use a false 3/4" thick cabinet Kick which is installed after the flooring to help the Flooring guys though. M.

Not is X8 as far as I am aware but that is a new feature in X10 M.
