  1. Probably a good idea to work throught he Tutorial Guide for all the basics as you have time, but there is also the KnowledgeBase ( KB) which has many tutorials and the Video Tutorial Section as well. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/category/126/edit-tools.html https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/#playlist-85
  2. I like we now have Sticky Mode but for some reason I don't find it as easy to use as the old Tool , seems like I need to try multiple time to get it to fully cut about 1/2 the time it seems to be in break mode still not cut. M.
  3. HI Toby, I guess the fix only works for Chrome is that right? or did you need to turn off HW Acc. in all browsers ? I think I may have read in the Past that this was an issue with the Intel video drivers but I have no way currently to look into that , it's possible Windows Update , updated the Drivers along with other Updates recently ( usually 2nd Tues of each month) if you don't have drivers Turned Off for Windows Update. M.
  4. Okay ...with the line colour being White I had missed them , not sure why there are 3 there though.. all unconnected...
  5. I tried deleting those Demo walls before I deleted the Stairs and it didn't help here , so that is weird..... tried it again and it didn't help , but deleting the stairs and curved walls again did.... where are you seeing invisible walls in the kitchen though? , they are turned on but I don't see any? I do see some demo walls and Std. Polylines....
  6. I wish they hadn't changed it , the Old double click tool worked better it seemed , at least to me , now sure why?
  7. usually when Chief slows down it is a bad symbol or something with alot of Curves ( and hence Polygon faces) so after looking at the cabinets and finding no issues, I looked at the Curved Stairs and somehow or another, you have stacked two curved stairs on top of each other...I deleted both sets and got most of the speed back..... so I deleted the curved walls too and it seems almost normal now.... have a play in a copy of your plan.... *** Appears to be an issue with curved Walls and curved stairs , probably worth sending the Plan to Tech Support and see what they find as deleting them all seems to fix it...
  8. Same issues as you here , if I figure it out I'll post back.... M.
  9. Ok found it finally..........scroll down the and read the thread , there is also a Video by Chopsaw...
  10. Couldn't find the plan I know we played with here last year for a second floor balcony with a slighty different method, but here is a quick plan with my Fascia Mount Railing Wall in it to play with....( can be saved to your Library) The trick is after drawing the Deck you need to lower each railing by dragging the bottom of the railing wall to the bottom of the joists. 1st turn off Railing , pull wall down , turn railing and Generate on low platform back on and you should be good to go. easiest to do in an elevation camera as you need to be very accurate to get the top of the railings to align. I left a couple of walls up in the Plan so you can try it. Deck Fascia Mounted Railings_MHD.plan
  11. Try search Fascia Mounted Railings , it isn't that difficult once you know how , I believe I have posted plans in the past showing how to do it over the last 3-4 years... I'll see if I have a Test plan from Last year still...
  12. You have to do the RC thing once the video is playing , not on the Link Graphic the Video Website shows... this is you laptop right? (didn't you buy a MSI at Bestbuy?) have you tried setting the Video Card Preferred in NVCP to the Nvidia Card? Did you uninstall the Graphic Drivers (Both try intel 1st) and reinstall? Did you do some googling on green screen and video playing? M
  13. Glad to help , interesting little problem , which you should Log as a Bug with Tech Support still, otherwise it won't get fixed. Here is the Plan I played with too..... SW Villa West 25a_MHD Fixed.zip
  14. Like Graham I was intrigued by why it didn't work , and wasn't the sure the OP knew about CAD Masks etc , though I did note he had a Section Camera already in Plan. If you aren't familiar with making a CAD Mask Paul (OP) this should help....in red....or the plan two posts below...
  15. Are you talking about in this plan or your test plan? as I don't see anything "floating" , I also redrew ALL the walls of theIsland room and put in 100" high , no casing , Doorways into that area too though, maybe that is the difference? ***I also deleted the angled Room divider inside the Island Room area OSB flooring in a Vet Clinic has me wondering though M.
  16. The Island Room does seem to be the Issue...... I turned off the Island room connections (Alt-Q) and then pulled the Imaging Rm Hall wall over to the thickened Surgery Rm wall (blocking E30 Hallway) and put in a Doorway instead and the Wall Shows in the Wall Elevation Camera Again. So I redrew the walls around the Island room and used Doorways instead of openings and that Room and the Halls , now show as separate Rooms too.
  17. Nice find Graham .....I did not think about the Auto Island Room connection ( even when I couldn't delete it ...doh! ) , when I changed the Wall Type to see if we had a weird Wall definition , I also dragged the wall around/over the existing Hall Wall as well and I am guessing that broke the auto connection now, as I used one continuous wall from left to right as seen in the pic. above....( no break at LH Hallway where E30/49 Cams are)
  18. Took a while to find you are working with Invisible walls turned Off ( not a good idea really) and there was one 4ft to the left of Camera 46 messing things up, and as I couldn't figure why it was there I deleted it and the Wall in Cam 46 came back.... if you don't want to see the glass doors backclip the view at 72" approx like below. BTW.....the invisible wall did not want to delete for some reason *** , so I switched the Hall Walls including behind the cabinets to frame 3 1/2 type , then it deleted , so I switched the walls back to Int.4. Not 100% sure why that worked , it was just a hunch. as a side note the computer symbol has a weird anomaly sticking out the side off it's CAD Block, opening the symbol and regenerating the CAD Block fixes it. *** see below I now think it was the Auto Island Room Connection***
  19. They are .MP4 files , so try right clicking the video and save it to your Desktop and try a media Player instead of a Browser , it sound like some video codec has been messed up , but not sure if it only effects browsers or not. Firefox64 is working fine here BTW.
  20. Had a look at your Plan again tonight Steve and it look like there was a bad Wall corner connection at the top Right of the main building , so I fixed that and extended the Porch area Ceiling purlins out a bit ( there seemed to be a Gap in ceiling) and deleted the ceiling structure and added the 1 1/2" layer to the Ceiling Finish as CS recommended and all now seems to work as it should for that ceiling. I think the Conc. curb was just some conc. Ground beams that had lost there reference height so I set them back to -4" so they were under the slab. Played with your Roof and Wall standing Seam Material too as it wasn't displaying correctly as Standing seam too. Hopefully this look a bit better now..... Steve's Pole Barn_MHD Ceiling.plan
  21. There is context sensitive Help by using the F1 Key , and the help menu also has links to the Reference Manual and Tutorial Guide which I recommend you work through. There is also the KnowledgeBase (KB) or FAQ section of the Website here : https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/category/126/edit-tools.html and videos here: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/#playlist-83
  22. No experience with the SB2 but this thread discusses some of the current models others are considering......
  23. Just make a public folder on one of your Cloud Accounts , copy the File there and post the link to the file , someone posted a 149mb file yest. with no issues this way.... M.
  24. Zipping the File is the usual way ( remove images and pdf and anything we don't nees etg landscaping /exteriors......but even that is not always enough , in which case People use Dropbox or GoogleDrive usually, OneDrive would work too. did you try uploading the 49mb file? I know there have been complaints in the past , but not sure if they upped it to 50mb or not? (used to be 10mb)
  25. Be best to attach the Plan file for weirdness like this , let another pair of eyes have a look around for you.... Has to be less than 25mb and closed when you attach it as Chief locks the File when it is Open. M.
