  1. Yes I thought it was "Textured Drywall" , hence using acyrlic stucco instead to create the Texture , especially since I thought the house was Stuccoed already from the pic. The drywall isn't for Fire Control being in Cali is it? ie the absolute barest minimum acceptable surface to the City.... *** ahh I see Michael just posted my same thought too***
  2. The Lintel Option in CA is not really for what we think of as (structural) Lintels over Doors and Windows , all it really does is let us use a different size casing on the Top vs the sides and Butt joint them instead of Mitering the Corners. YOu can't even set it up for say a 8"x8" Concrete Lintel (similar to a Soldier Course) over an Opening. The is an L Angle in the Bonus Beam Catalog but they do not report to any Schedule Either as they are really Geometric shapes I found out recently. When you use a brick or other masonry type wall the Overhang gets cut off , so no much use as a Structure Lintel to even fake it.... You can add a Comment to the Window's Object Information Panel in a Custom Lintel Field ( with Width macro) so it is added to the Materials List Under Masonry as seen below , but you could add it to any Category, I just chose Masonry as the Mason would Supply it.
  3. had to read Mark's post a couple of times before I clicked, but it's possible Room is Set before Wall so you can't select the wall without Using Tab or Next (I think) , But I have always had Wall set myself , so haven't run into this myself...
  4. Well no doubt the Pine T&G or perhaps a Cedar T&G would be much nicer , but I would use G1S Ply and some 1/2x 1 1/2 battens over joints etc to save some money if needed and give it a "panelled" look, perhaps a couple of fake Beams in Cedar too, before I used drywall and texture outdoors.... Texture should not go anywhere near Drywall especially Ceilings, but perhaps that is just me
  5. Curious what kind of "Texture"? .......... as why not use Plywood and an Acrylic Stucco System? M.
  6. Since you have x10 apparently, not X6, there are 3 Libraries available Wineracks.com too and the Bonus library ..Wine Cellar Items Cabinet Specialty Storage may also have Items you could use ( changing the Materials as needed)
  7. You need to edit your Signature ...... *** to fill in your Signature .... go up to the top RH Corner above and click on your UserName> Account Settings> Signature.... and enable Signatures (will Turn Green) then add your Hardware Details and Chief Software Version, as different Version require different Answers.
  8. Just noticed you are still on X6 , so that may further Limit the Libraries available to you.... M.
  9. If the two Premade Man. Libraries and Chief's Bonus Wine Cellar libraries Items don't suit you?, you will just have to use Cabinets and perhaps some of the Specialty Storage Items (cubbies/cross boxes etc) to make it yourself. Wine Items in Chiefs 3D library
  10. Upgrade to X10 ....sorry bad joke I am guessing.... CA always Updates the View when you Print , no matter what..... Post the Plan file and Layout (while closed in Chief) and let someone else have a look perhaps I am curious why you are recreating Parex's PDF? Can't you just use Parex's PDF ? or do you need to add the "Notes" for a reason ? see Details Dropdown here Your video Ram is really low , but I am not sure that is relevant to this issue...and a good reason to not use X10 is my guess , but you could download the Trial Version and try it out....
  11. The Reset Option Eric pictured above will reset them all...
  12. I would try the Plot lines Option instead as CS mentioned. I think I have also read about Others having issues with Notes in Layout vs Plan. Wouldn't hurt to try a different PDF Printer Too.....Eg BullZip....... or if you are try Chief's Own Built in one.
  13. With these type of situations the best proven method at this stage is to use 2 overlapping , by 1 tread staircases , so the can be different Widths at the bottom (to out side of wall) and top ( in between Walls ). It is admittedly a bit tricky/finicky , and it's best to draw your Own railing for the bottom set it seems , it needs to be wholly on the stair though. One small quirk is that you don't get Base at the bottom of the Stair Wall , so either use the Room Molding Poly to correct that or a P-solid etc. the Electrical for the Staircase is in the wrong locations ..i marked them in the pics for moving... not sure how you got one in the Window though
  14. This is one of the latest threads but a search will find more , couple in the Chatroom Forum too...
  15. You have that Loft area set as a Balcony...its not...try it as a bedroom.....the Railing wall is also reversed
  16. Or perhaps forget it and Use PBR.... definitively faster
  17. Are you looking to pay someone to help you ( what the Seeking Forum is for) or are you just asking for some help? , in which case you would be better off over in the Q&A Forum ...with a better explanation of the issues and perhaps some screen grabs of them too , as I don't see anything obvious in the supplied Plan. You should do your Forum Signature too , as people will need to know the Software and Version you are using especially. M.
  18. Always worth a restart of the Computer when things are acting weird....may not help...but can't hurt..... M.
  19. Always a good thing to do if you experience some weirdness in CA , I have seen others reporting weird Selection issues in X10 at times too , eg being able to select hidden and off layers.... M.
  20. $495 + 9yr x $99 to upgrade each year I believe..... so $1386USD
  21. Can't you stack two cabinets , one angled , one not and just reverse the rear one ? ie it faces the wall , so instead of 1 x 24" deep cabinet , you'd have 2 x 12 deep cabinets
  22. It sounds like you were in Text Mode if only text would select , so hitting Space as Chopsaw said to deselect should of worked ( I usually hit it twice to be sure). Clicking the Arrow Icon will do the same thing too hopefully you got it by now...
  23. from what Mark said that is cos you made a CAD Block out of them , if they were individual they would be on the Shutters Layer still.... you can use a bock to move them aroud and place them , just explode it again when they are in position.
  24. As you made changes for each set of Options , I guess you could do a CAD Detail from View for the Elevation and send to Layout from the CAD Detail instead...they won't change then as Cad Details are not Live. (basically a snapshot in time) Ahhhh with different layersets, not cameras , yes you maybe be able to do it but you would need to use Plot lines I think and not allow any updates , not sure if Chief will force an update on Print with plot lines, I know it does with Live Views. M.
  25. The 2nd option (layout box) is acting weird , you didn't have the roof displayed and the Foundation is not showing either but not time right now to look more... I right clicked each layout box and set Plot lines instead of Live View ...since you have four different Live Views on that one sheet you would need 4 different Plans to do what you are trying I think , otherwise any change in the Plan will change the Live View when Printed too...., with 4 plans you should be able to Use Live View I think. I have not tried Marks multiple Cameras method but I am not sure how that works cos the Model would change and hence the Elevation view would change as you add or delete options in each camera. M.
