When playing with Roof Purlins in another Thread, which were made from Lookouts, I ran into an issue with them "flipping", Michael (A_S) mentioned in that thread it was a quirk due to have Auto Framing Off and Auto Roof Build On at the same time , I am not sure if this is the same issue or not though.... M.
  3. If that is possible , Michael ( Alaskan_Son above), would be one of the individuals on the Forum, to talk to directly about a Custom Macro. Most people are not switching the Reporting style frequently , so my guess is your needs have not come onto Chief's Radar..... perhaps make a Suggestion in that forum. M.
  4. Ahhhh Ok , now it makes sense , I think they require your SSA to be valid for 2 months min. past the anticipated Released date which Renters/monthly payers don't have....

If you are using the Component list to bring in the Lft Price then you'd need a (simple ?) macro in the total Cost column and you'd have to insert it if changing the SMR List Type.... you could make several macro and insert them from the M> Icon when needed too. eg for Buy list assuming 9 ft Studs =((count*9)+extra)*price ** I think you be better off just changing the price to $5.22 for a 9ft stud , the total is then automatic , it will be a lot trickier if you need to switch list types continually in the ML? I have a feeling I am not understanding exactly what you are doing though... Mick.
  6. which Type ? by Default it uses Total Lineal Length , so if you haven't set up a SMR Method for your needs , eg Cut list , Buy list etc..... it will only show total Lft.

  8. In the Detail I pulled the Wall CAD Box ( concrete ) up and chamfered the Corner , to cover the "Wall Cap" Outline , I added another pic to Clarify... I was actually taught the other way many years ago, and so take these new "modern details" with a grain of salt sometimes, but I do love the 4" of foam under Slabs these days myself , it does make a difference. Of course, if I am doing the Site Prep it's another matter but in the example I used above I had to tear the main floor Slabs out of two side by side Townhouses as the slabs had sunk to various degrees in different spots upto 3 inches in one corner so they couldn't even put there furniture against the walls due to the 8" stemwall ( 2x4 framed). As it turned out the "Spec" builder ( a Plumber ) had backfilled with the topsoil off the site as he didn't want to pay to haul it away...... and then put a thin layer of sand on top to cover it up, but I have also see numerous other issues over the years from poor prep. M.

The Slab is not sitting on the Footing nor is it "connected" to the stem walls due to the interior rigid insulation, the Slab is basically "floating" inside the Stemwalls , though personally I like to see rebar "pins" connecting them , having seen more than one example of (interior) slabs that have sunk over the years due to poor site preparation , ie no or little compaction. ( I assume ). M.
  13. Which means you have SSA and thus X12 will be Free for you .... and all future versions too, while you keep SSA Current each year. ($525 per year currently) M.

Shouldn't be too difficult with the ability to copy or make new wall types , build the Wall Layers in Chief just like it's built in the real world , if you are having trouble provide a cross section from a Manufacturer (or ??? ) for example here on the Forum so someone can help you.... this video may help too. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/5454/creating-a-new-wall-type-with-a-new-material.html M.
  17. Seems to be do-able with the Wall Tools, have not built a whole house so......... but with some Custom Wall Types and a Custom Molding Profile for the Wall Cap it looks good. ( only an Architect could come up with an angle like 47.8° ) . It needs a little bit of work in the Cross section to adjust the Auto Detail CAD boxes but it's minimal for the Molding Chamfer and the fact Chief places 2 boxes for the Insulation due to the use of pony walls. I assumed the Walls would have Siding and Drywall ......... all done in X12 Beta as an X12 Test...

  19. Yes, in Chief that would be the Finished Ceiling Height though , not the Rough Ceiling Height which would normally be the Wall Height or Top Plates. M.

As Eric mentioned start another Thread with a few Pics and either He , I or someone will have a look , as I am not sure why you "lose the frame on the inside? you do need to make it wider if changing the inset to. You can delete your posts above about this and I will too , to clean up the thread. M.
  21. I think you mean Top of Wall Plate and Rough Ceiling are the same thing... Typically that is probable right, but I usually use Top of Plate as well
  22. It appears the CAD Block for the Symbol has been rotated somehow , open the Symbol ( Not Object) and on the 2D Block Tab have it generate a new one and see if it fixes it.
  23. You can still add it back if you prefer the Icon , you can even make a Custom Copy Toolbar , with CUT and paste Hold etc etc included. M.
  24. This is common , don't know the reason but is is sometimes easy to extend the wall in 3D up to the top by simply dragging it. Generally they show one floor below the floor the Deck is built on. they show on the Floor they build on but as mentioned yousan "show" them on the floor above or below if needed. Plan open in chief while uploading. M.
