  1. Those are Callouts , and as far as i know are controlled by the schedule , so any setting is applied to ALL windows , you can not specify different rotations on specific windows ( or side of house) You could Use the LABEL to show the Schedule number though , along with other info such as size and type if desired though, one of My Clients likes it done this way so his Crew doesn't need to refer to the Schedule all the time , but they can if needed look up a particular Window.... Okay , I guess it must be cost effective, I was thinking adding 1/4 ply where needed might be easier.... M.
  2. you might need to post some pics and the plan then as window labels not parallel to the walls is pretty unusual as is Relative not being the default..... * Yes Eric has a good point too.....
  3. It will go green when done right , I think your comma on glenww, means it didn't work above @KnotSquare "Use Room Ceiling" is a Default in the build Roof DBX M.
  4. As Rob mentioned that won't change any Existing Windows in the Plan Labels you will need to group select them and switch them to "relative" too. New windows placed should follow the new Default though. Personally i have not seen 1 1/4" plates used..... M.
  5. Yep, that is the technique I would of used too BITV...... M.
  6. Ah ok, I was thinking of going down to 16 from my 17" Scar in my sig. I didn't actually look but would of assumed they had 18" models too.
  7. As a general rule Terrains should be added on Level 1 and then altered with Regions, Elevation Lines etc up or down as needed..... Mick.
  8. Not that I am aware of , not even in X15, you would need to make your own symbol to show that..... Mick.
  9. Did you checkout the Lenovo 7i Pro line for comparison? I looked yest. and pricing wasn't bad I thought depending on Model, strangely pricing has increase $100-120 today on the 4070-4080 models , so you might want to wait till later tonight or tomorrow to actually buy.... M.
  10. Hi Tim, did you find help? I've sent a PM..... top right of this page
  11. Yes I noticed that and am not sure why and hence the suggestion to send it in as it appeared both roofs were snapped to the wall but displaying differently. do you walls really not have any sheathing? The Upper wall in the pic has a "fascia" or something there too, at least on the right facing the camera. you can play with the thickness of fascia and the overhang so that it will "just" protrude from the wall and it should generate auto..... just be aware that Chief may not measure the Overhang as you or I might on the Site..... Mick.
  12. I am not sure what the inconsistancy is , perhaps send it in for answers but because of the way chief builds roof planes the outer surface of the fascia must be outside the stucco or it will look like it won't generate but it is actually the RP cutting the wall as they are won't to do..... pull the roof plane off the wall 1/2" - 1" and you should see the fascia appear. there are fascias in the Pic above too, if only sheetmetal? painted the same color as the stucco M.
  13. You haven't told us what it is? Flat roof ?, Parapet Roof? , you could supply your test plan for others to play with as well perhaps, stuff like this is likely to be dependent on what is needed and I'd say is only a "typical" condition in california M.
  14. I guess not then, longtime since I've see HD Pro.... M.
  15. Hi you are actually on Chief Talk , there is also a HomeTalk for the HomeDesigner Products too, but you should be able to create a new layer in Pro I think on the Layer or Line Style Tab if Pro is the same. https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/ might want to add your Sig. too..... saves you from entering tyour version with every question... https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/18908-signature-here-at-chief-talk/?tab=comments#comment-155662 M.
  16. This just popped up on my phone , so I thought I'd share the Post as I have a client that got the i7 variant and 4070 /13900hx back in July and she is happy with it for chief..... * do you due diligence and check at Lenovo itself too just in case their BF Sale has started early too https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1745682-REG/lenovo_82wk0083us_16_legion_pro_5i.html
  17. This may work but choices maybe pretty limited for a CAD line eg, Layer, color of the line , line type? M.
  18. Move the Item(s) on the Layer to a existing layer or a new one 1st........... M.
  19. Generally only the SSD (or NVME) or Ram are upgradable on Laptops and as noted in you other Thread the GTX series of videocards won't work for PBR RTRT abd unfortunately the 1660Ti GPU is not upgradable ( at least it is very rare for laptops to have upgradable GPU's unlike desktops but MSI and Lenovo have plenty of options depending on your budget and BF is just around the corner. Mick.
  20. This KB article may help https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00199/modifying-the-scale-of-an-imported-dwg-dxf.html another way which can get you very close is to measure a known Dimension Line length once imported into Chief and then calculate the "Resize Factor" use as many decimals points as possible in T/R (Pic below) then CAD Block the WHOLE Imported DWG and (T/R) Transform/Replicate > Resize > [ enter resize Factor] , then unblock it and check the dimension again. Scaling in Chief Scaling Images or PDFs.pdf Mick.
  21. If you don't need moldings ? I'd suggest you use 3D solids instead, and if moldings are need use a Molding Polyline for them. M.
  22. Just Create a Foundation, ( Build>Floor>Foundation) though I'd set your Plan Defaults 1st, and then alter the different areas on the Foundation level (0) level as needed eg 48" crawlspace or 96" Basement Area. M.
  23. Only the 2000, 3000 and 4000 Series have the RTX Hardware needed for PBR - RTRT ( Real Time Ray Tracing) the 9,10 and 16 Series NV. Cards should be able to use the X12 version of the PBR view though which wasn't too bad. Mick.
  24. Are you referring to My pic of the Reset of Defaults above? That was just a quick way to force every wall back to Chief's Default of a Hip Wall so Auto-build would work. You should check both your new Template and this plan as someone has set the Default Exterior Walls to have High Shed/ Gable wall as the Roof Default. (see pic) * I think you may have meant to mark my post as the solution, not your post too.....
