  1. You've Set ALL the upper Floor Walls as HighShed/Gable .......... Use Edit > Reset Defaults > All Floors > Roof directives (at a minimum) Mick.
  2. Posting the Plan is always the best idea if possible...... there are just too many variables M.
  3. Yes , you need a Nvidia 2000, 3000 or 4000 Series Videocard to support X15 RTRT, however I thought if the Hardware was not Capable, then Chief uses the older PBR "Light Engine" from X12 , but as you have X15 I would Open a Tech. Support case ( through your Online Account) and ask a few questions and get the info direct from Chief. A newer Videocard maybe an option too for a Desktop computer, they have come down in price quite a lot this year.... Mick.
  4. DB's suggestions would be the 1st things I'd look at too if "auto-Build" is on. M.
  5. Not in front of Chief but I am fairly sure you can click the Orbit Icon, ( or Alt-O) reposition yourself and hit escape (ESC) , and the Paint Tool should be active again.... Mick.
  6. The rest of the "control" (defaults) are picked up from whatever Dimension Default is currently active. Not sure what Version you are using but in X15 unlike earlier versions you can show Temp. Dims even if there is an existing Dim. there currently. M.
  7. I agree sounds like you have accidently modified your Default template , if you are using Chief's Default Templates? the 2nd half of this article will show you how to simply restore by renaming a Folder......... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-01866/resetting-template-files.html M.
  8. No sure if the same Issue but I used to see this in iPhone Photos that on a Windows 10 computer, that could not read the orientation info embed in the pic, so I had to open them in a Windows Photo app and rotate as needed and resave the pics., but it sounds like you may have tried that? perhaps post the pic , I am sure other wil "play" with it and figure it out for you...... M.
  9. I don't FB , never have, so I would never see this , but he hasn't been back here since post this yest. , if it was solved on FB , he could of posted back here so people weren't wasting their time replying. This is why one reason I think Chief should just include the Version under everyone's Avatar, it would be Soooo Muuccch easier..... especially since they insist on sending Home Designer Users to the Chief Forum instead of their own - Hometalk Forum. M.
  10. Not anymore for me at least, spending 10 mins on a Help post to find out they have a 3 yr old version is inconsiderate. Nothing against the OP but he hasn't posted since 2021 and He never replied to either post back then so I will leave you two to it.... M.
  11. Best bet for sure , I have a feeling perhaps you Roof Structure is setup incorrectly..... You haven't done your Forum Signature so we also don't know what Version of Chief you are using which in this case is likely needed info as the Roof Framing etc has changed and we can now do Purlins etc in X15 here's how to do that please. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/18908-signature-here-at-chief-talk/?tab=comments#comment-155662 Mick.
  12. Personally, I have not seen that Issue, so providing the Plan as suggested is the best way to get help on this one..... As Rene mentioned to might want to check out the other Dimensioning Tools or see if the Auto elevation Dimension Tool works for you.... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/1595/dimensioning-cabinet-face-items-and-openings.html?playlist=92 https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/128/dimensioning-wall-elevations.html?playlist=92 Mick.
  13. Just FYI .....This should not be done , it leads to a whole lot of "crazy" in the Terrain at they fight each other for Control definitely the way to go I think too... M.
  14. That is from when I found out the Hard Way AutoSave was not working for some reason and also why I increased the Max. files to 30 and I am rarely "bugged" but then I do go in and have a manual Clean Out of the Archive folder every few months. M.
  15. I would also get your Co-Worker to Check the Preferences Settings for the Autobackup and Archives to make sure they are on , as they should be by Default....
  16. You did Check that all that Cabinet Layers are displayed in the pertinent Layersets right? did you try the ALL ON Layerset? are they gone for sure....... you could also upload the Plan on the Forum perhaps? M.
  17. Check you don't have an Archived Autobackup available 1st...... someone had this issue Yesterday too....ie a corrupt Plan File so I won't type it up again, here is a link..... Mick.
  18. Yes quite , I am not sure why it was set to 1 to 1 or why that would cause 3'7" 5/8 to show as 77+' feet though? But I believe one of the other things done in X13 and refined in X14 was a rebuilding of the Dimension System in Chief. M.
  19. Delete the Front roof Plane and pull the rear roof plane to the front of the building.......... M.
  20. Not sure exactly what the Issue is but I did see exactly what you are but once I reset the Primary Format from 1:1 in the Dimension Defaults it reverted both my Dim and the Auto Dims to normal... PS setting it back to 1:1 does not make it occur here again so ........
  21. Happy to help , you might want to adjust the Preferences for the time for Autosave and Auto Archive Backups , depending on how much work you lost....
  22. Unfortunately if the Header is Corrupt the File usually can't be opened, even by Chief Tech Support. However Auto Backup should be on in Preferences by default so you should have a backup which was saved to your Chief Data Folder in Documents in a Folder called Archives. C:\Documents\Chief Architect Premier X15 Data\Archives This should help you find it........... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00099/accessing-your-archive-files.html' Mick.
  23. It is a Sketchup File type and sometimes works better for exporting especially into SU, does SU export a better OBJ perhaps? M.
